Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I just wrote my review for the first novel and felt necessary to share how I amazing I thought this novel was too. This series as a whole was incredibly impactful in my childhood, and in all honestly you haven't experienced this world if you haven't read the books.

Date published: 2017-09-29
Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit disappointed Doesn't keep you "thrilled" and in suspense like the first book. Also i found the story line between the characters a bit lacking. Storyline was a bit slow as well. Hopefully the last installment of the series doesn't totally disappoint me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome sequel!! Catching Fire is perhaps my favourite book in the trilogy. Intense, romantic and just as gripping as the first. Tensions between the Capitol and the districts become even more strained, and the story more exciting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Book The second book of the hunger games series, very good, the characters captured my attention and kept me reading
Date published: 2017-08-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for young adult I love it that I spent the time reading the books before watching the movies. You get lost easily in each character and have a blast imagening your own scenes.
Date published: 2017-08-07
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little hard to follow... Essentially this book is a redux of the first Hunger Games book. The only things that change in this book are the details of the arena/playing field, and the ending. Other than that: same book as the first.
Date published: 2017-08-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Catching Fire Loved it more than the first one.
Date published: 2017-08-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Hunger Games This book was better than Hunger Games... I was really stunned by the major revelation of this book - especially after the first one ended the way it did. Still haven't seen the movie, so I can't comment on how well it compares to its big screen counterpart. I read all 3 books, and this one was the best.
Date published: 2017-07-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still a good read I guess here is where you truly see the cruelty of the Capitol
Date published: 2017-07-25

Date published: 2017-07-22
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best of the Trilogy A wonderful middle book, when so often the second in a trilogy fails. Literally you can feel Katniss' despair and dilemnas.
Date published: 2017-07-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sequel Wasn't sure about the premise of this one when I saw it, but it's a great continuation of the series!

Date published: 2017-07-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it This was so much better than the first book. I couldn't put Catching Fire down.
Date published: 2017-06-30
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay read I had trouble getting into the world that Katniss lived in in the first book, but I have to say that I found this second novel a bit better, it gave us more understanding about this new dystopian world and the characters seemed to be more lively (their characters were more developed), but I felt like there was missing something (this feeling had been with me while I was also reading book 1). That is why I have chosen not to read book 3.
Date published: 2017-06-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Catching Fire I loved meeting the past champions. I liked Katniss's continued rebellion and her and Peeta's moments. This sequel pulled at my emotions.

Date published: 2017-05-19
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Better than the first, but still over-rated
Date published: 2017-05-14
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as good as first but still good I did not like this book as much as the first one, but it was still a very good read. <spoiler>I was weary when I found out she would have to go into the arena again, and I was concerned that the story would repeat itself. Luckily it didn't and some of the other tributes were excellently developed.</spoiler>
Date published: 2017-05-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Okay It as a pretty good book, but not as good as the first one. I felt like it was a repeat of the first story and that the end could've been achieved in a way other than another Hunger Games. Despite the repetition, it was still pretty different because of the new characters and how much Katniss and Peeta's characters have developed over the course of the first book. Also, they continue to change before your eyes in this book.
Date published: 2017-05-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even Better The games are back with a twist. The emotions are more poignant and the plot more complex and interesting.
Date published: 2017-05-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than expected Plot gets more interesting. Great addition to the series.
Date published: 2017-05-07
Rated 4 out of 5 by from And it begins...again So Katniss, Peeta and previous contenders of the games are back in the arena and it's even more high stakes than before because turns out, it's not just a game anymore. We're left off with Katniss living a much better life in the sense that she has a home, she has food and what not, but her mental state is anything but restful. I love the new cast that is introduced from Finnick to Mags. It brings even more horror of what the games have done and what it will continue to do if it continues. An explosive ending with a brilliant cliffhanger!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the first!! When reading this book I wasn't sure how they were going to measure up to the first book, and to be honest I wasn't really sure it was going to be any good. Boy was I surprised!! I think out of the whole trilogy this book is my favourite. This is the start of rebellion and the start of an epic conclusion!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to keep the story going The way they are sent back yet again is a great way to keep yhe story going, the different caracters that are introducted are easy to imagine since they are well discribed. Was a great read as was the first one. Hard to put down. The end makes you want to start the third book right away
Date published: 2017-04-17

Date published: 2017-04-04
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Couldn't finish it I found this one quite boring. I got through half and the actual hunger games hadn't even started. The buildup wasn't special and everything before it felt like boring filler. And Peeta was bland, just like the first one
Date published: 2017-04-03

Date published: 2017-03-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm a fan of this book tbh Catching Fire raised the stage for the Hunger Games trilogy and for Mockingjay. In my opinion it truly out done itself and out done the first book. The book picks up perfectly in accordance to the ending of the first book. Furthermore what is even great about this book is it raises the stakes for Katniss and tests/challenges her as a character in protecting those who she loves and for fighting for what she believes in.
Date published: 2017-03-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved this book Lots of people don't like this book as much as The Hunger Games, but I liked it just as much if not more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favourite Book It's hard when you tell someone that one of your favourite books is the second in a trilogy. I felt like this book continued well from the first one, and sets the stage for the third. Several times through my reading, I had to put it down to take a breather because it was so good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Best! For me, I believe this was the best of the three HG books! I don't know why, but the pace of the story is better than the final one! Yes, it takes a long time to get to the HG, but still, the first half of the book is really good !
Date published: 2017-02-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it. My boyfriend and I shared this book with two bookmarks while on vacation, and we couldn't get through it fast enough. It's such a great story. Loved every minute.
Date published: 2017-02-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good follow up As far as second installments go, this one is pretty good. We get to see an all star version of the Hunger Games which wasn't as badass as I figured it would be but still pretty satisfying. This book set up the story for a big finish, which unfortunately was one of the worst 3rd installments I've ever read.
Date published: 2017-02-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Sequel! I really enjoyed the sequel to the Hunger Games, where the stakes were raised and more history was revealed. I liked the twists and turns the story took, and the ending was explosive and suspenseful. I need book three now!

Date published: 2017-02-02
Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little tedious , mid-series drag Still a good book, but lacks the pace of it's predecessor and takes a long time for any real action. Definately the weakest of the series.
Date published: 2017-01-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best in the series A great book, for me this book filled in some of the cracks from the first book really rather well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Favourite Catching Fire is my favourite book out of the Hunger Games Trilogy. Most sequels tend to drag a little but, but I found Catching Fire to be excellent. Yes, it is a little like the first book, but it is also extremely different. And much better if you ask me.
Date published: 2017-01-28

Date published: 2017-01-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Catching Fire (The Hunger Games #2) by Suzanne Collins Catching Fire was one of my most anticipated books of 2009. I loved it's predecessor, The Hunger Games and was so hopeful for this instalment. I wasn't disappointed per se, but it did fail to meet my expectations. Oh, snap. She DID NOT just do that. This is not a cliffhanger people, this is inhumane. Like hanging on for dear life by a spider web thin thread totally butt naked (you know that makes it worse)! It's so worth it though.
Date published: 2017-01-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved It! Catching Fire was a great follow up to The Hunger Games (one of my all time favorite books), and Suzanne Collins definitely kept me guessing with the cliffhangers thrown into this one. The ending was so intense, and had me immediately picking up Mockingjay, as I just had to know what happened next!
Date published: 2017-01-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Book! This book was the weakest in the trilogy, it kind of felt like one big filler. That being said, the book still kept me on my toes and I think it's necessary to read if you are planning on reading the entire trilogy! #plumreview

Date published: 2017-01-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as good as the first book but well-written and worth reading While it lacks the freshness of the first book the book is still of good quality. The victor's village is quite creative as is the Quarter Quell and the events in the book. Necessary reading for fans of the trilogy and good reading for everyone else

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My Favorite of the Series I like this book the best because you get to meet the old winners and I loved reading about their backstories. The ending isn't great but I enjoyed the book for the most part.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Alright As a follow up of The Hunger Games I found it to be similar to the first novel in the series. It was not as engaging and I found myself wanting it to end quickly so I could read the last novel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better! I found this book to me my favourite of the series. Besides touching upon PTSD, a very common societal issue that needs to be addressed, the novel was a good story incorporating some mystery and deception into the mix.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sequel Many people argue that this book suffers what is known as the "sequel sickness" where the second book sucks. But I think this book was the best out of the series because of the amount of action in it. I like action, not politics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from STILL GOOD! The second book in the series is just as good as the first! Though I do hate the love triangle every YA book has to throw in!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than the first Probably the strongest entry in the trilogy. She takes the setting, characters, and plot from the first entry and multiplies it by 5. Thrilling and hard to put down.
