Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fascinating Very well written. Surprised even me (a very experienced uk funeral director). Shame there are some sickos who bring my profession into disrepute. The author has obviously researched painstakingly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Yuk Not for the faint hearted there is some pretty sick stuff in here, good if you wish to write a horror story and shock though. The depths of human depravity never cease to amaze me. Fascinating and vile at the same time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Two Out of Three Parts One and Two of this book were extremely interesting and informative. Katherine Ramsland deals with the facts of what happened to a body after death, from decomposition to planning a funeral to interment. These sections are not recommended for the easily nauseated, but she discusses the subject of death maturely and in a straight-forward manner. How disappointing when you get to Part Three, dealing almost entirely with paranormal nonsense! The book's vibe quickly changes from an honest portrayal of death to supposed "proof" of vampires and ghouls. The section on necrophilia (in addition to being disgusting) feels as though it may be mostly fiction, and the section on necromancy just made me angry that there is anyone that deluded in the world. If you are looking for a read to talk openly, honestly, and intelligently about the facts of death, pick up Cemetery Stories. But put it down when you complete Part Two.
