Get in on Christy’s Senior Year

The last three books, collected in one page-turning volume, conclude the bestselling Christy Miller series with hope and promise! At the start of her senior year, Christy looks forward to growing closer to Todd, but her friendship with Katie is on the rocks, threatening the year she was certain would be A Time to Cherish. With Sweet Dreams comes the start of a romantic summer. She’d be entirely swept off her feet if it wasn’t for the most difficult decision she’s ever had to make. And in A Promise Is Forever, Christy discovers foreign adventure is just her cup of tea. Follow Christy Miller as she stays true to her identity in Christ, drawing closer to God for help in realizing her dreams and dealing with her disappointments.

Whether you’re meeting her for the first time or have known her for years—

Christy Is a Forever Friend

A Time to Cherish

For Labor Day weekend, Christy Miller is on a houseboat at Lake Shasta. What could be better? She’s about to find out! Before they know it, both Christy and her best friend, Katie, are receiving some unexpected male attention. But somehow these best friends are at odds just when they should be having the most fun together. Christy soon realizes that sometimes you have to stand back and let people make their own decisions, even when they’re headed for a fall. And although life is never perfect, this is definitely a time to cherish.

Sweet Dreams

Christy Miller’s senior year is delicious, especially the time she spends with Todd. But her best friend, Katie, is struggling—she’s realized she needs to break up with Michael. It’s not easy! Fortunately both Doug and Disneyland help Katie to cheer up. Christy is learning to let go and get out of the way so that her friends can become who they’re meant to be...even when it jeopardizes her own sweet dreams.

A Promise Is Forever

Christy Miller’s going to Europe! It’s a three-week missions trip with Doug, Katie, and Tracy. First stop: London for some sightseeing, and then a castle in the English countryside for group training. Christy is so excited to be headed for Belfast with her friends—despite some tension among them. But when plans go topsy-turvy at the last minute, Christy must face her fears and realize that some things are more important than her own comfort...and that even when she can’t foresee the end result, a promise truly is forever.

Story Behind the Book

“The Christy Miller series was actually born when a group of thirteen-year-olds challenged me to write a novel. I’d been questioning the content of their favorite books when they said, ‘Why don’t you write a book for us?’ I told them no, I only wrote picture books. But they persisted: ‘How hard could it be? We’ll even tell you what to write! We want a love story with teenagers at the beach.’ And there you go. Summer Promise first released seventeen years ago and is now translated into five languages. I continue to hear from readers all over the world, many girls saying that they gave their life to Christ after reading Summer Promise . I love that!” —Robin Jones Gunn

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Book Series I totally fell in love with the whole Christy Miller series. It is an all time favourite of mine when I was 12-13. Great pre-teen read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving this series! 1. A Time to Cherish I love this series but this particular novel wasn't one of my favourites. It did have components that I did enjoy but there were certain aspects that I didn't necessarily love. First, Christy's attitude in this novel kind of bothered me. She seemed impatient and critical to a lot of things e.g. Katie and Michael. She may not have agreed with it but I think her youth really was shown with some of her reactions. I cannot help but be continuously amazed with Todd though. I mean seriously, is there men like this in real life?! He just is so full of wisdom and reacts way more maturely than any teen (or some adults) that I've met. It was a good 'filler' novel in the series and it's more realistic because sometimes in life there isn't something exciting going on everyday. Looking forward to what comes next in the series! 2. Sweet Dreams This may have been my favourite of the series so far. It had a combination of things that I truly loved. First, I enjoyed how Todd and Christy's relationship has evolved. I feel like this novel really showed the progress and strength of their relationship. I also felt that Christy has matured since previous novels and it really was shown in the ending of the novel (I'm not giving anything away but really could read the emotion). In a superficial way, I also loved the inclusion and details of Disneyland! I know, it's a weird aspect to enjoy and something so miniscule. But, the memories of visiting Disney World as a child are some of my favourite to reminisce on so reading of the rides, the food, and the setting in general definitely placed a smile on my face. With the way the novel ended, I absolutely cannot wait to read more. The ending kind of broke my heart but in a good way. Those who have read will understand. Can't wait to read more and to see where it goes from here! 3. A Promise is Forever This installment was really good also. Initially when starting the novel, it feels like a lot has happened since the book before. Christy is now in college, other relationships have developed (no spoilers here) and Christy is going on an outreach program in Europe. It was a very enjoyable novel and I really do enjoy the travel aspects within this series. It really does make you feel like you get to visit somewhere you've never been before. Also, this novel continues to show how Christy matured and has become more independent. Yes, she might be scared in some circumstances but who wouldn't be when faced with some of that stuff? LOVED the ending and I do not know how that happened. I waited for something to happen through the whole book but yet I was surprised with how the event unfolded. Again, cannot wait to read more and I'm happy that I don't have to! So lucky to have more book in the series to read instead of waiting for more to be published. Definitely recommend this series and this volume.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful!!! A really AWESOME book that explains more about Christy's life. I looove the part where Todd and Christy are in the raft and "talk" about things. And it is sooo sad in the second book of this volume. I won't tell what happens but I cried because it was so devestating. Then in the third book it gets exciting when Christy leaves on a trip to Europe and has some adventures there. This volume concludes with a surprise ending and will leave you wanting more!!! I really recommend this book!!!
