Clover's Ark is the story of a quest, a pilgrimage, in the spirit of "Narnia" and "Lord of the Rings." Clover, a young rabbit, is called by the Ancient One to embark on a journey, the same journey to which Noah, the Patriarch of old, is summoned.

Clover had never left his beloved meadow except to visit Tom Squirrel at his oak tree or his rabbit friends at their meadow. This journey is the first of its kind - animals from near and far are called upon by the Ancient One to leave the security of their warrens, burrows and nests to travel to a place and circumstance never before encountered.

Clover wept when Wise Sam Rabbit told him that he must leave behind everything he cherished and follow the Ancient One's voice. He is led lovingly on each leg of the journey and experiences many excruciating trials and profound joys.

Clover and Tom travel through forests and apple orchards on the backs of two deer and enter the Toad Kingdom. Fly with them across the Great Sea in the bills of pelicans. Clover forges deep relationships with these animals as he travels through new and distant lands. When Clover is wrenched away from his companions by a terrible storm, he is plunged into despair and all hope is lost.

"Clover's Ark" is a tale of love, grief and joy. Travel with Clover, Tom and their newfound friends through meadows, across rivers, through lentil fields and ultimately to the meadow beyond all meadows and the Ark of old.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A delight I was proud to do a reading for Miriam's book at her vernissage and I look forward to her book signing event in November. I especially loved her description of Toad Kingdom, a stop over for Clover and Tom on their way to the Ark. It's exciting to speculate how the animals did indeed receive their call to travel to the Ark. What a sight that must have been. Miriam's imagination is as vivid as is her artwork in technicolor. Congratulations Miriam.
