Rated 5 out of 5 by from T Stuart McBride books are gutsy with quite an amazing story plot. I read a later book in the series about DS Logan McRae and just had to go back to the beginning of the series and have since read all that are in print. Highly recommend if someone wants a fast paced mystery with clever deductive sleuthing. A great protagonist with a fine supporting cast. Cannot wait for the next one to come out, I am truly hooked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What an author Move over Ian Rankine and Jo Nesbo. Stuart Macbride is coming to join you. Same gritty realism, same unexpected plot twists and a great turn of phrase. There were moments I laughed out loud. When I first came across the Logan McRae books, I thought, "How could anyone write a crime novel about Aberdeen, where nothing ever happens?" Stuart Macbride has almost made me frightened to go back. I don't remember it raining every day though. Sometimes it snowed or hailed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from T This was the first book I read of Stuart MacBride's and I was so impressed that I have since read all the others. He draws you in to story which makes it hard to put down as you want to see what is going to happen next. Stuart paints a very clear picture of the settings and people and it seems so real.
