Rated 3 out of 5 by from So so I have been going back and reading all the older King books, I was left with a feeling of "hmmm..." Was not overly impressed, glad I read it, but it was a bit of a let down.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only OK This is a 3 1/2 star book. It's different. Not your typical Stephen King novel

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thought provoking I'm not going to lie, I picked this up because of Haven. I searched used book store after used book store, and when I got my e-reader it was the first thing I bought. I'm also not going to lie that I was expecting something totally different--however! I was also very pleasantly surprised. Haven was definitely *based* off of this story, the idea that there are unexplained mysteries. I loved the story separately from Haven because it made me think, and that is the greatest sign of a good mystery.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Just as the review title states, this story was a huge disappointment. Not much more to say than that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Watered down "Haven" If you found this because of Haven, know that it doesn't contain most of the main characters, nor the Troubles. However it's a really interesting read (albeit slow because it's a story within a story). Hard to find IRL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A super read. A phylosophy mentor Don't as a rule enjoy King's books. This was much more than just a mystery novel;but very thought provoking. I'll be reading his books somewhat differently in future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Colorado Kid I like it. I didn't love it. Not the best of Mr Kings works. But as always you know the characters when you finish one of his writings. I read this because I do love the show Haven. And was a little disappointed that it wasn't more like the show. But still enjoyed it. I love most everything that Mr King has written. I've read most of them. And some more than once.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Colorado Kid I've been waiting to read this book ever since I first saw the television series Haven. You might be disappointed to find out this novella has very little to do with the Syfi tv show, but you won't be disappointed for reading it. All in all it it well worth the read.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Colorado Kid Fantastic book! It wasn't what I was expecting, but found myself caught up in the story. It is a true mystery & leaves the reader to come to their own conclusions.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Colorado Kid I was a little disappointed in this book since he wrote Joyland with the same company. There was a lot of dialogue that wasn't needed and had nothing to do with the mystery. The mystery itself was left in the with no conclusion which is slightly annoying because I didn't think enough evidence was to us for our theories to run wild.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Colorado Kid Not a typical Stephen King tale. Very interesting and leaves you wondering. But, if you are watching Haven and expecting that type of story then you will be disappointed!! Good reading and not really connected to any other stories.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Intriguing I read this because I knew it was the inspiration for he television series "Haven." The end word by the author ties everything together, and I think this is one of those stories that will stick you, springing to mind every so often.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better than what some critics say It's a mystery tale that hasn't been solved. There is no neatly wrapped ending. The fun is in the mystery itself that is unexplained.
