Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Lot Better The second book in the Brown Siblings series was so much better for me, the first book was pretty good but I didn`t feel like it was all that great but this one did a great job with everything. I found that the storyline was a lot better and I liked the characters, I also really liked the paceing. Overall this was a really good book and I look forward to the rest. :0)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!! If you have read Laid Bare and liked it, you'll like this story as well. Brody is not looking for a relationship or someone to take care of, but when he is struck by a car at the end of his driveway and his new neighbor across the street comes to help him, he may be changing his mind about that whole relationship thing. Elise and her daughter Rennie moved to a new place to get away from her evil in-laws who are determined to make Elise's life miserable. After helping her neighbor after he was hit by a car, they decide to just have fun, no relationship mess. As time goes by, and Elise's past starts to come back to haunt her, Brody wants to take care of her and her daughter, but Elise won't have it. Brody and Elise realize that they have gone past just having fun and have feelings for each other, but don't want to voice it to the other person. Would you fight for the ones you love? Great story.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Undone, Laid Bare and Wide Open!!!! Lauren Dane does it again, spinning an erotic tale with human emotion and sizzling sex. This book is the second in a series revolving around a family of siblings and the women/men they love. Although this book is not as epic as the first it’s just as good and emotional, then again my view could be biased because the first book had a very unusual coupling and I loved it. Brody Brown is the caretaker for everyone, raising his siblings from the tender age of 17 giving up his hopes and dreams to become the parents that they lost in an accident. You might think that his live is without merits but it is the complete opposite he has raised two very successful people and he couldn’t be prouder plus he aint doing so bad himself. A successful tattoo artist surrounded by friends and family life isn’t too bad. All he needs is a casual romance and everything would be perfect. That’s what he finds in his neighbour Elise, what started as casual becomes so much more than he would have imagined. Elise is escaping from a horrid past and moving to Seattle is just what’s needed. Finding great neighbours and good friends and living a normal life with her daughter. The upside is that she has a very sexy and inked up bad boy neighbour, he personifies what fantasies are made of. He lives inside Elise’s fantasy every night, and man is he good ;). Elise just wants a man without complications and Brody fits that bill what she doesn’t expect is to love him and adore the way he treats her and her daughter. Seems that healing and love can come in a big inked up package. This book was hot, not as hot as Laid Bare but it doesn’t fall short, Dane knows people and writes what she knows on paper, and makes it raw. Her books aren’t just sex but a whole lot more and that’s why I enjoy her style of writing. Brody is strong and tough but inside a sweet and caring person and the balance of that was beautiful. Elise is strong after all she’s been through no crying sappy female in this one just a beautiful strong woman. The heat between the two characters could start a small forest fire that would last for a few days, hot, hot hot. Plus chapter 16 gave me a stroke it was bloody steaming when she gave me a taste of Ben, Todd and Erin. Blasphemy!! My fave trios. If you love erotica and a good story then check out Dane’s work, no disappointment. MMM CHAPTER 16, GOD!!!(Read Laid Bare) 2010-011

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good I have to say this book was not as good as Laid Bare. It was enjoyable and I did not want to put it down till the end but...having some experience with both the issues in this book I found the emotional element missing. Still worth reading. It is nice to catch up with the rest of the Brown's as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Done Up Right Coming Undone is the second book by Dane featuring the Brown family. The first book, Laid Bare, packed an emotional punch and had more substance than I usually expect in this type of book, a trend that Dane has continued with this latest offering. Coming Undone is an emotional study that will hook you from the start. Brody Brown has a good life. Big brother to Erin and Adrian, he has a successful tattoo shop and a close knit group of family and friends. Having been burned by love once before, he prefers to keep his relationships on the casual side. So when he discovers that the attraction with his new neighbour Elise is mutual, the perfect solution is 'friends with benefits'. This is more than okay with Elise Sorensen. A former professional ballerina whose career was ended in a horrific attack, she is struggling to put the past behind her and make a new life for herself and her young daughter. She doesn't want to become entangled in a relationship, but sex with the hot guy across the street? That works for her. Somewhere along the way though, their relationship evolves from casual to personal and Brody and Elise must overcome their pasts to find a future happiness. Brody was a great secondary character when first introduced in Laid Bare. In this outing, Dane has taken the already great character and brought him to life. MMmmm Yum! Brody just worked for me in every way. He’s the strong silent type with a less talk more action attitude. Combined with his sexy, bad boy, good looks and his protective nature he's a force to be reckoned with. After having to put his own life on hold to raise his two younger siblings, you would think he might be a bit bitter, but he's not. It's in his nature to be the caregiver and the relationship the three siblings have is endearing. I love the fact that they all still play a major role in each others' lives. Brody enjoys taking care of the people he loves and no matter how casual his relationship with Elise starts off, she and her daughter Rennie quickly fall into the category of people Brody will do anything to protect. Coming Undone is full of memorable well developed characters, strong emotions, and some pretty steamy sex that left me with a smile on my face. The secondary characters helped to make this such an enjoyable read and I loved catching up with the characters from Laid Bare (gotta love Chapter 16). While the two books are related, Coming Undone could be read as standalone, but you will want to read Laid Bare as well, trust me. 2010-032

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DELICIOUS LOVE STORY Ever since I read LAID BARE I’ve been waiting for Lauren Dane to continue with her sexy ‘Brown family’ series and with Erin’s brother Brody as our lead character here she doesn’t disappoint. COMING UNDONE grabs your attention right away with its cast of familiar characters, erotic love scenes, perceptive writing and Brody. Wow, who wouldn’t fall in love with this bad-boy on the outside, tender and sensitive on the inside charmer, sigh. I have to say though as good as this is not much ever really happens within the story; it’s more a character study which Dane does very well, drawing the reader into the emotional lives of her characters with amazing dialogue and chemistry. Our story takes place over the period of a year so we also get to watch the entire Brown family grow and change and in chapter 16 Erin/Ben and Todd show us what they’ve been up to in a ménage a-detail romp and um yeah, it’s hot. As a whole though I think true erotica fans will be slightly disappointed (with the exception of chapter 16) because of the lack of heat. Don’t get me wrong Dane’s sex scenes are amazing (mirrored ballet studio or tattoo shop desk anyone) and so well written they’re just relatively tame compared to Laid Bare and it’s over the top kink factor. Still this is an amazingly hot and sensitive read that fans will love. Brody Brown has always been responsible for others giving up a promising art career to raise his younger brother and sister after their parents died. Now that they’ve grown and moved on Brody’s life has finally become his own and with a prosperous tattoo shop, nice house and freedom to do as he pleases life is good. However when Elise Sorenson moves in next door he can’t help but get involved in more ways than one. Once a world famous ballerina, Elise and her young daughter have moved far away from the horrors of her past hoping to start a new life. The last thing she wants is a relationship especially with a tattooed, Harley riding bad guy but what Brody offers isn’t a relationship instead he offers companionship with no strings attached. A friends with benefits you might say and it’s working for both of them until Elise’s past comes back to haunt her. Now as much as she doesn’t want to admit it Elise might need Brody for more than just a sexy time in fact he may be what she truly desires. This could be read as a stand alone but readers would benefit from reading LAID BARE (because it’s awesome) and you get the entire back story on the yummy Brown family and friends. Cheers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dane does it again! Loved it! For you erotica fans out there. If you have never taken the time to read a Lauren Dane book, then you are missing out. The woman has an incredible gift for writing excellent erotic romance novels that go so far beyond only exciting sex scenes. Her stories are awesome. And they have substance, as emotions are felt throughout. At times it’s sad and hard, at other moments it’s happy and hilarious. If you are familiar with Dane’s book Laid Bare (HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), then you will recognize the lead in the book. In Laid Bare, the leads were Erin, Todd, and Ben… good times ;) . In this book, the lead is Erin’s older brother Brody, and Brody’s new neighbour Elise (and her 7yr old daughter Rennie). Elise has survived an awful past. A former ballerina, she is now a dance teacher with her new studio in Seattle where she is now settled down with her daughter as a means to get a fresh start away from all the garbage she has had to deal with. While she ogles the sexy man that lives across the street, she never imagines that the moment he gets hit by a car in front of his house that their lives would forever change and a future together would be unavoidable. Prior to the first hookup, Brody is a man nearing his forties who is satisfied with life. He owns a successful tattoo shop, and has two younger siblings that he loves dearly and is extremely proud of. He isn’t looking for love or a relationship – He likes his life, and likes that if he has some needs that need tending, he has no problem finding or getting it, with life continuing on afterwards! To him, life is good! But then, he gets hit by a car, and his new neighbour comes running to get his butt some help! And the rest they say is history. Once the two of them realize they have extraordinary sexual chemistry together, they agree to have a no strings attached, friends with benefits type relationship. There are only two conditions: They remain exclusive to one another and Brody can’t stay the night in order to maintain some stability with regards to her awesome daughter Rennie. While they spend a good portion of the book denying their feelings, it’s obvious even in the beginning of the book that these two characters love each other, and that pretty much everyone loves Rennie – myself included. That little girl is a firecracker, and is a very enjoyable character in the book. Not everything can be peachy keen though. Elise has a past that haunts her, and fearing that she will be a burden to Brody – since she sees how much responsibility he already carries on his shoulders – she tries to back off knowing that that’s not what this relationship is about and that her baggage is far too heavy a load. Of course as time goes on, the relationship evolves whether they like it or not, and it gets to a point where they are so into each other that it’s obvious to everyone but them. Beyond just Elise and Brody's storyline, Elise becomes best friends with Erin, and becomes quite attached to the rest of Erin’s and Brody’s circle of family and friends. The only exception is Raven, since she’s Brody’s ex, Raven is not Elise’s biggest fan and vice versa. And I have to say, it is quite touching when you get to scenes where all of a sudden you see Rennie call Erin: Aunt Erin, or Adrian call dibs on reading Rennie her bedtime book. It simply is one of those novels that beyond the sexy times, those heartfelt and good moments never fail to put a smile on your face! Overall, I can’t put it above Laid Bare, but it is a REALLY close second. The sex scenes are also fabulous and awesomely written, and remember readers; this is an “erotic” romance so the language is a little more graphic than in a standard romance novel!!!! And for you fans of Erin, Todd, and Ben’s unconventional relationship, there is a GREAT chapter in the book dedicated to them that is super sexy (I’m not ashamed to say I’ve read that scene a few times, hehe)!

Nearly a decade and several dozen books later, she’s well aware of her good fortune and is loving every moment of it, even when she has to edit and intervene when her children bicker about video games or manga.
