"Freaking hilarious. This is the novel moms have been waiting for."—Jenny Lawson, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Let's Pretend This Never Happened

"Perfect for readers looking for a funny, realistic look at motherhood."—Booklist (starred review)

From the creator of The Honest Toddler comes a fiction debut sure to be a must-read for moms everywhere

There are good moms and bad moms—and then there are hot-mess moms. Introducing Ashley Keller, career girl turned stay-at-home mom who's trying to navigate the world of Pinterest-perfect, Facebook-fantastic and Instagram-impressive mommies but failing miserably.

When Ashley gets the opportunity to participate in the Motherhood Better boot camp run by the mommy-blog-empire maven she idolizes, she jumps at the chance to become the perfect mom she's always wanted to be. But will she fly high or flop?

With her razor-sharp wit and knack for finding the funny in everything, Bunmi Laditan creates a character as flawed and lovable as Bridget Jones or Becky Bloomwood while hilariously lambasting the societal pressures placed upon every new mother. At its heart, Ashley's story reminds moms that there's no way to be perfect, but many ways to be great.
Bunmi Laditan is an avid contributor to Mothering.com, Parenting.com, The Huffington Post and iVillage.com. She enjoys writing about her family and offering advise on raising children. Her titles include: Confessions of a Domestic Failure, The Honest Toddler: A Child's Guide to Parenting, and Toddlers Are A**holes: It's Not Your Fault.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Okay Story I love funny books and this one definitely gave me a few laughs. But at times it felt like things were going on for longer than they should. Still a great humorous read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it I don't normally go for the funny books, but I'm glad my co-worker let me borrow this. It made me laugh - but best of all it made me realize I'm not failing at being a mom! I would swear she was writing about my own life at some points. I would highly recommend this!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok This book is ok. I was expecting a laugh out loud light novel, but was slightly disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Funny, Fluff Read If you are new to Bunmi's writing, you're in for a treat. Bunmi is refreshingly honest and funny. While there were elements that were certainly relatable, it centered so much on the external and daily slog of motherhood rather than the emotional growth and journey that also goes with it. I wanted to like Ashley, but there wasn't much there to hold on to

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hit Close to Home While many others have described this book as funny, I found myself crying through the first 72 pages of the novel. Not to say it wasn't humourous, in fact I laughed out loud several times, but some of the passages seemed to be straight out of my own private journal (or they would have been...if I hadn't had been too tired to write them!). Talking about how difficult motherhood is still seems to be a taboo subject in our society and I have never met another woman in real life who will admit this without having to justify how much they love their kid(s) in the next breath. In fact, the main character admits this as well, but I still loved her anyway. Will definitely recommend to anyone who needs a true to life representation of motherhood--and a lot of laughs. Thanks for writing this book!
