Sequel to Outlast the Night
Lang Downs: Book Four

Thorne Lachlan knows a thing or two about getting himself safely out of a blaze. For years he fought in the world’s hot spots, a Commando with the Australian Army. Now, retired, he fights flames for the Royal Fire Service. When a grassfire brings him to Lang Downs, the next sheep station in danger, Thorne meets Ian Duncan and sparks fly that neither man can put out. But both men have ghosts from the past that stand in the way of moving beyond mutual attraction.

While Thorne longs for the home he could share with Ian at Lang Downs, he fears his own instability might make him a danger to others. And Ian’s always believed that the foster care nightmare he escaped before coming to Lang Downs would make any relationship impossible. Trust doesn’t come easily to Thorne or Ian until the fire’s aftermath forces them to see past the scars keeping them both from healing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Conquer the Flames, conquer the fears I liked this book just as I liked the preceding books. It is well written has a good story and well researched. The characters are great and believable though I don't know if they can fit many more gay couples into any future stories; the place is bursting at the seams. I do think that the problem with the neighbour will come to a head if there is a follow up. Just a guess. A great read and highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Conquer the Flames Don't even try putting this one down until you finish, it just won't be an option. A wonderful fourth book in the Lang Downs series. Thorne, an ex commando turned rural fire fighter, arrives at the station to warn them of the fires that could threaten the station and enlist their assistance in the defense of the fires. What he didn't expect was to find a paradise he could call home and a man to love in the process. Ian has been on the station since leaving foster care. In all that time he had only told one person what had happened during his time in the foster system. Can these two men, both part of the walking wounded, find safety in each other's arms and overcome their pasts?
