Rated 3 out of 5 by from Path to Wholeness? Created for wholeness is a book on spirituality. According to the author, each human being has the potential for wholeness if they follow the path outlined in this book. He borrows and expounds upon ideas from the tradition of almost every spiritual practice and tradition, including Christianity, yoga, Hinduism and karma, Buddhism, astrology, the Chinese zodiac and Transcendental Meditation, quoting extensively from the corresponding sacred writings. The author acknowledges the struggles within our human nature while advocating knowing ourselves, being kind to others, faith, compassion and other virtues. Acheampong freely picks and chooses from the teachings of Buddha, Jesus and karma, and encourages the reader to do the same on his or her own path to wholeness. We were definitely created for wholeness and there is some positive advice in this book, but this particular path is too complicated for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from What we are all about explained This is a treatise, a manifesto of self understanding integrated across the spectrum of life philosophies. It is a depiction of Acheampong's own journey to discover who he is and his purpose in life. In describing his process he offers a comprehensive guide that spans self-understanding, psychology, religion, astrology, numerology, you name it. To work this all out and work it together would seem to be our life's task. I subscribe to the concept of the whole self but wonder if "wholeness" need be this complex. This was a challenging read to keep all the pieces introduced in perspective - and a book that needs to be put down and picked up over time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A good place to start Andrew Benedict Acheampong’s “Created For Wholeness” sets out to show us how to become a “whole” human. A noble venture, and to get to that wholeness, Acheampong covers a lot of bases. For the novice, for the beginning seeker, this is a fine place to start, with passages and thoughts from sources as divergent as the Bhagavad Gita, the Bible, Deepak Chopra, and both Chinese and Western astrology, with Wayne Dyer and the Tao Te Ching thrown in for good measure. It feels simply too much for the depth this topic needs. I appreciated Acheampong’s efforts, and his sincerity is obvious. An interesting place for those setting out on the path to begin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Self-Help: What I need more of I've not been into self-help books, so this was a revelation and made me think that perhaps I should become more self-aware and more sensitive to the nuances of the connections between health, spirituality, and general living. Thanks to the author for giving me a push to learn more.
