In Cruise Confidential, Brian David Bruns spills the dirt - or in this case, the dirty water - on those romantic, fun-filled vacations at sea. His hilarious chronicle of the year he spent working for Carnival Cruise Lines takes readers down into the areas where the crew works and lives, leaving readers gasping with laughter as they’re assaulted nonstop with events that range from the absurd to the utterly bizarre. Stewards fighting over food. Cutlery allowances and other nonsensical rules. What the crew calls those onboard (no, it’s not passengers”). And of course, the sex. An abundance of ready, willing, and able bodies eager for action on a vessel replete with nooks and crannies leads to love in some mighty strange, and seemingly impossible, places. Breezy, entertaining, and informative, Cruise Confidential is essential reading for those planning a cruise or for anyone who just needs a good laugh.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting Read This was an enjoyable book to read but I feel like the writer was a bit too conceited. I kind of got sick of hearing about how every woman he encountered wanted to sleep with him. I would have preferred less of the drinking/partying/sex aspect and more of what it is actually like working on a cruise ship - like interesting guest encounters and stories. As an example, at the back of the book the author includes a list of "stupid questions" guests have actually asked. I would have really loved to hear some of the stories behind many of those questions! Nonetheless, the book was entertaining, just not really what I expected.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from funny and interesting read If you have ever taken a cruise and wondered what life was like for the crew I highly suggest you read this! I read it while actually on one of the ships mentioned in the book, which made it even more comical for me. Enjoyable and interesting read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hilarious! This book was everything that I had been hoping it would be. The way the stories are written are absolutely comical and very enjoyable to read. It is said that every story has 2 sides, and this book did a wonderful job of portraying both sides of the story of a crew member aboard a ship.
