Poison, passion, pandemonium

Anastasia Devlin is a genius at organizing her eccentric family and her online clients, but she seriously doesn't have time for playing detective.

Then her super-geeky teenage brother Tudor claims his hacker worm has escaped and is chewing through the Internet. This, followed by the news that the executives of a major computer company have croaked from exotic fish poison, sets Ana's danger radar pinging. Soon, Tudor is running from government agents, a trained assassin, and corporate spies.

Tudor’s worm might have led to murder, but Ana's landlord—the infuriatingly competent Amadeus Graham—could take the fall. Before long, Ana has four bodies, dozens of suspects, and more trouble than she can count. On top of which, the Internet is on the brink of collapse.

Finally Ana gets more than a glimpse of sexy Graham, the enigmatic tycoon who holds the family’s inheritance hostage. But this time, she holds the trump card and is about to secure their future—if she lives long enough.

On EVIL GENIUS: "This thought-provoking story includes a convoluted mystery and some fascinating characters. The interactions between Ana and the mysterious Amadeus are delightful. The ending will leave readers longing for more stories about this captivating heroine and her gifted half-siblings." Susan Mobley, *RT Book Reviews* **4 stars**

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Murder & a little romance..what is Ana to do? Anastasia Devlin is the oldest in a unique, intelligent, trouble magnetic brood of siblings. She once ran from the overwhelming responsibility of caring for her siblings, but not anymore. Now she is determined that they will have chances she didn’t and that they will have as normal of lives that they can. Anastasia, or Ana, has learned like her brothers and sisters the art of spying and hiding from their Mother. Mayhem and madness seem to follow these siblings with Ana ever present as the leader. Murder, insider trading, poison, spies all come together in this cyber mystery as they race to find out who is behind the plot. It doesn’t take long to discover their nemesis Top Hat and Senator Rose are somehow mixed up in the conspiracy. Will Ana take them down this time? Graham is their resident hermit spy who comes to their aid. Ana and Graham share a mutual attraction with a hefty dose of sarcasm between them. With his own secrets in the balance, Graham is still a mystery that Ana plans to unveil. With family, Graham, Mallard, and an assorted group of new friends Ana will stop at nothing to save her brother from the evil men pursing him. Will she find the culprit before it is too late and can she do it before calling in the big guns….Mom. This is the first book in the Cyber series by Patricia Rice that I have read. I found it very intriguing and very different from the style of her books I have read. Even though there is a sexual undercurrent between Ana and Graham, the sex scenes are limited and do not over take the story. Because I haven’t read the first two books in the series, there was some background I was missing. Even though this existed, I don’t believe it interfered with my understanding the story for this book. I really enjoy this idea of one woman who has so many kids from different fathers and each of those kids have amazing abilities. I plan to continue reading this series and going back to read the first two books already written. I received this book from Patricia Rice in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Book of the Genius Series!!! The "Genius" Series is a truly original mystery series. It brings to mind the mystery series of the early 80's (Scarecrow and Mrs King, Remington Steele), where you could follow a really interesting, intelligent, fun mystery without all the blood and gore. Mixed with that, you have the fast pace of Alias (from its 1st couple seasons), and the quirky humor of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (where the bad guys are politicians, not monsters). Having said that, this series does not expect you to believe all is perfect in the world. I read this book in under two days - I just could not put it down! Where the first two books were sort of setting the stage, this book takes things to the next level. Every time I finish one book, I'm dying to find out what happens next with this quirky family. You can read these books as a series or you can read them independently - either way they are written in such a way that you don't miss anything, but don't feel like you spent half the book catching up on things. If you are new to the series, feel free to start with this book and then go back to read the others. You won't feel cheated having done this. For those of you just starting with this series, the reason for the date at the beginning of the book being set back in 2011 is because there has been a large gap between each book in the series, but not a lot of time has gone by for the characters.
