about

A deadly quest . . .

The sworn knight of an English lord, Gareth returns to the Highlands to pay a debt of blood to his uncle, the man who killed his father. But when his uncle's men murder his companions and leave him for dead, a mysterious beauty rescues him. Tender one moment, cruel the next, she bewitches him to his core.

A hidden desire . . .

Roxanna, a vampire princess, is sworn to break the curse that banished her kind to the dark. Awakened from her years-long slumber by Gareth's voice, she preyed on his attackers and kept him alive only to feed her hunger. But every night with Gareth makes her want him more, not just as a lover but as the soul mate she has never known. Together they will achieve both their dreams . . . or be lost to the darkness as one.

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd in the Casteel Series The theme in this novel is family. Who really is our family? Haven is taken in by her mother’s family and begins living in the opulence of the upper class. She is excited to start a new life where her mother grew up. She is looking happiness, friends, and a loving family. Although she has money now, she doesn’t have any friends or loving family. Heaven is a very sympathetic character. I found Fanny to be fascinating, in a train wreck sort of way. I feel bad for her, regardless of her being spoiled and mean. Logan Stonewall, who has a Madonna whore complex, becomes even worse. I hate how she continues to occasionally hold Logan Stonewall on a pedestal. I love the relationship between Heaven and Troy. She confides in Troy so easily and he listens without judgment. I’m not going to spoil the ending but all I have to say is I wasn't a huge fan of the ending.
