about

A female vampire slayer proves as seductive—and mysterious—as the night dwellers she stalks in this novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling Carpathian series.

For as long as she can remember, Natalya has been fighting demons: first in the form of childhood nightmares, then later, immortal creatures that kill and prey on the innocent—including her own twin brother. Whether Carpathian or vampire, she slays those who murder by night, and has no equal—until she is seduced by the very thing she considers her enemy...

A Carpathian who has seen nearly everything in his endless existence, Vikirnoff didn’t think he could be surprised anymore—until he faces a woman who rivals him as a vampire hunter. A formidable and gifted warrior in her own right, Natalya has a nature that is strangely familiar—yet alien—to his own. Who is this mysterious female who fears no one—not even him? Natalya could be the key to the survival of the Carpathians, but all Vikirnoff is certain of is that she is the key to his heart and soul...

Christine Feehan is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Carpathian series, the GhostWalker series, the Leopard series, the Shadow Riders series, and the Sea Haven novels, including the Drake Sisters series and the Sisters of the Heart series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Totally NOT a disappointment I have to be honest, I was really unsure in whether this book was worth buying or even reading at first from all the contradictions included in the commentaries. But when I read the book, I came to my own conclusions. This story is unlike the other ones of Christine Feehan, with a very interesting and different plot. There were more fighting scenes than usual, but i found that I loved them all the more because you begin to see how much the two main characters, Natalya and Vikirnoff, do care for each other, - of course, that endearing, protective nature of those alpha-macho-and so on-males have its time to shine - and you discover even more intriguing aspects of the Carpathian race in general. Another PLUS is that this back acted as a sort of reunion for quite a few characters. Not to mention the love scenes are steamy, as per Miss Feehan's standards. Definitely not one to miss!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Friggin Amazing Now, this book was absolutely amazing. I especially loved the touch of tigers in this book, beings that tigers are my all time favorite animals in the world. As usual, Christine Feehan is amazing in her books and I really wish there were more Carpathian books!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dark Disappointment! I have read all of Christine's other Carpathian books and this is the first one that I really didn't like. I found it long winded and the over use of the Carpathian language distracting to say the least. There were too many battle scenes, and I even found myself cheering for the bad guys (vampires),just to make the book end! Unlike other readers I didn't find much chemistry between the central characters and found it a labour just to finish this novel. I will seriously think twice before buying the next one due out soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from astonishing Christine Feehan out does herself again. Once you start reading this book, you will find that you can not put it down. The story will keep you on the edge of your seat from the battles to the sexual tension between Vikirnoff and Natalya. If this is the first book you read of Christine Feehan's, you will be out to collect all her books. I can't wait for the next one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Waste of Money I did not enjoy this book. It felt like other Feehan books. There was nothing new! Same old! Same old!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Loved It The best book yet by Christine Feehan. She keeps your attention from start to finish. A good romance with steamy scenes, supernatural powers, good and evil, right and wrong, and eternal love. What is not to love? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good romance or fantacy book. Although I do not normally like vampire books, this book is not a typical vampire novel and I loved it. In fact I have read all of her books and would recommend any of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whoohoo! I loved this book. Along with my other 12 Christine Feehan books, this one was amazing! I just loved how Natalya can turn into a tiger!! (The tiger is one of my all time favorite animals EVER) and I love it. Christine Feehan should seriously get an award for all her amazing books, because, wow! She is my all-time favorite author, and I hope she keeps publishing more paranormal books!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Carpatians take another direction I found this book to be a good one, although compare to others in the Carpatian serie, it's really not my favorite. In essence, I thought there was too much battle scenes...true, they are sharp and cool but the angle about angle about Natalya being 'afraid' of Carpatian wasn't there enough to my liking. I wish there would have been more information about the mages. All in all, I was a bit disappointed I guess, but still there is good twists in this book and it opens a lot of questions for the next books in the serie. Oh and the book is worth is just for the Carpatian language infos :)

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good read, filled suspense, romance and excitement. I can hardly wait for her next book.
