This CD-ROM is an indispensable companion to "David B. Milne, Catalogue RaisonnT of the Paintings" (University of Toronto Press, 1998), the massive two-volume documentation of all Milne's known paintings. This CD, useable on both PC and Macintosh, provides full-screen colour reproductions for nearly all of the more than 2700 Milne paintings, identified by title and catalogue number. The resolution of the images is exceptionally high, the result of much additional photograph.

Individual images can be found quickly by catalogue number or by title. A complete section of paintings of all paintings with a particular keyword in their title can also be easily obtained.

Students, scholars, curators, and collections will find this CD especially helpful to use with the printed Catalogue RaisonnT, which provides information about provenance, exhibition history, printed references, primary sources, and many supplementary illustrations. The CD, with its rich ccolour, will be a valuable asset in following the aesthetic path of Milne's remarkable career.

DAVID P. SILCOX is an art historian and arts administrator, who has written extensively on the visual arts, including for books on Tom Thomson, Christopher Pratt, and Jack Bush, and for many catalogues and periodicals. David Milne Jr is the son of the artist and administrator of the Milne estate.
