This book details the mischievous adventures of everyone’s favorite little troublemaker in school. “David Goes to School” might entice small children to misbehave also, but this book is worth checking out.

From Our Editors

With his Caldecott Honor Book No, David, David Shannon recreated the stories he wrote and illustrated as a child. In this hilarious follow-up, Shannon reassures kids finding their own way in school. Always the rapscallion, David seems to hear "no" a lot at school, too -- so much that he ends up in detention. But as his weary teacher talks things over with the unruly boy, David starts to realize he can have a great time at school and get some learning in, too! The funny little boy with a triangular nose for mischief gets into more trouble in David Goes to School.

Editorial Reviews

* "We know this kid because he is our brother or our cousin or our best friend, or us." -- Booklist (starred review)

* "The exaggerated shapes and slightly cartoonish poses of an array of students in all-too-familiar situations will have youngsters crowding together over the book at recess." -- Publishers Weekly (starred review)
