Read from the Book

The real shrine is the Gopher Hole Museum. Its 40-plus miniature displays, with nicely painted backdrops, feature taxidermied gophers dressed in costumes. They whimsically and quite comically depict various aspects of village life, real and fictional—from a wedding and a church service to a hunting scene and a bank holdup.

Editorial Reviews

What Bill Corbett’s fans say“Having lived in Calgary for close to 10 years I thought I knew all there was to do in the Calgary region. Day Trips from Calgary opened my eyes to many more [local] adventures... away from the well-beaten paths to Banff and Kananaskis Country. It also provides some insight to the surprisingly long and colourful history of the area. You don’t have to spend a fortune to have a great time around Calgary!” -Richard, Calgary, AB
