Rated 5 out of 5 by from SO GOOD!!! Gah, these books! I honestly can't get enough of them. This one might have been a little slower on the action, but it was no less intense or dramatic, particularly because Kate's past re-emerged with a vengeance and sunk its hooks into her again. I loved every angle the story took, since there were many side stories such as Danny's school drama and the romantic tension between Kate and smokin' hot Morales. While I really enjoyed the central story and the terror it ended up bringing the team, once again, it was the characters that sold the story for me. Just when I figured Kate had done all her growing up and couldn't reach a new level of maturity and strength, she does. She's a fantastic, strong, female heroine who won't let alpha males control her. It's really engaging to watch her toe the line between duty and what she desires, and I'm always entranced by the way she faces the demons of her past, which overwhelm her in ways I never imagined. I LOVE these books and need more of them ASAP!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent addition to a great series The war rages on. It's still not clear what John is up to, but Kate's relationship with Danny is improving and Kate is learning a thing or two about herself and her past. Ms. Wells has written an engaging and gritty series, and I can't wait for the book four to find out what happens next.

Editorial Reviews

"Last year, I wrote that Jaye Wells had the potential to be the next coming of Laurell K. Hamilton and Kim Harrison. This year, I'll amend that slightly: Jaye Wells is the next coming of LKH and Kim Harrison." on Green-Eyed Demon
