Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dated Once upon a time this was a landmark story for DC but today it just feels dated. It's a pretty mediocre story and you're really just curious to see how Superman dies.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for nostalgia Not a great comic but decent for the time. Was a landmark comic event so should read it once. Holds special place for me as I read it a hundred times as a kid; shocked that Superman died. Picked it up recently and enjoyed it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for the time Good story, just seems dated now that we are so comic book savvy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from An alright read. This was an alright book with many characters and references. It was a little weak story but it could of been worse.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't live up to hype Death of Superman is a pretty straight forward beat-em up and then Superman dies. It features Doomsday, probably the shallowest villain in Superman's rogues gallery, and you learn next to nothing about him in this story. Of course Superman never stayed dead for that long anyways. Everyone already knows this so the shock value is next to nil. This is just one of those historical comic book moments that you want to read once to see what it was all about.
