Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Tempting Evil" by Keri Arthur. Book 3 in the Riley Jenson Guardian series. I very much enjoyed this third book in the Riley Jenson series. It was just as exciting, dark and mysterious as the first two! The end of the last book has Riley agreeing to become a guardian for the Directorate so this book starts with Riley in training. But due to an advanced timeline that the bad guys are taking, Riley doesn't have enough time to complete her training. She's on an undercover mission to infiltrate the evil bastard, Deshon's, complex. After her lover, Misha, was killed by Deshon's lab-created creatures, Riley is determined more than ever to take him down. Even if she has to put her own life in danger, as well as her brother and her other lovers Kade and Quinn. But can she really do it? Can she kill someone without remorse? She just may well have to if she wants her life back...as crazy and uncertain as that life is. Such a great story line in this book! When the action gets started, it was really hard to put the book down. I originally thought that this series was a paranormal romance but it's more of a paranormal urban-fantasy with hints of romance and a lot of lust. The imagery in the book is really very vivid. You can totally "see" what Ms. Arthur is describing. I can't wait to start the next one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Riley is a great heroine Riley finally breaks down and unwillingly joins the directorate. Just as quickly as she becomes a guardian she is sent on her first dangerous mission. She must go is as fighter to a mysterious mans house of “fun”. Fun if you enjoy people dying, painfully. Riley must keep her mouth shut and her whit’s about her to make it out alive. After all the lives of Rhoan, Kate and a little girl depend on her. It helps that her own avenging angel Quinn is looking out for her, yet still she is not sure of his intentions. Well she is sure one intention, he wants her for himself. If Riley can complete her mission she might be able to stop the baddie that has been trying to collect her and her DNA for months. Just like the other books in the series it is a fast paced, sexy romp. Riley is a women that never has all the answers and I like that. She might have great “abilities” but she is unsure of herself, but we see lots of growth in her in each of the three books of this series.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Riley Jenkins AKA Poppy Burns is still kicking BUTT!! (FYI: THIS REVIEW WILL BE EASIER TO UNDERSTAND IF THE FIRST AND SECOND BOOKS HAVE BEEN READ!) In this third installement of the Riley Jensen Guardian series, Riley's new mission is to infilitrate the evil Deshon Starr's estate and labs in order to find the location of Libraska (a cross-breeding lab) and to annihilate Deshon and his inhumanely evil lieutenents - Moss and Merle. While at Starr's estate she takes on other risky tasks (most against Jack's orders, hehe) while there, in an attempt to keep her identity secret as Poppy Burns. Through this, she creates new allies within the confines of this truly evil place but also endangers her life ten-fold. Of course, beyond this mission, naturally Riley still has to contend with her messy complicated lovelife. The main lover we readers are used to at this point is Quinn. He is a vampire who is struggling with accepting a werewolfe's culture (that involves a lot of casual sex) therefore Riley. But he still wants her to himself, and she is not budging in the matter that she refuses to be tied down to anyone but her future wolf mate. She obviously still questions his motives and his inability to open and honest with her - besides sex, what do the have??? right!!! Thus they obviously clash in certain regards, and although some of it is funnier than anything else - both sides do get angry for wanting different things from each other, and this does lead to some frustration with the reader, because at times i wanted to smack them both. Sometimes they seem to simply be going in circles - always the same issue!!! Kellen the Alpha werewolf and corporate enemy of Quinn, is proving to be quite interesting as one of Riley's newer lovers. Riley is really attracted to him, and it does not hurt that he is an Alpha Werewolf - could he be the one!?!?!? He is only in the novel at the beginning of this tale, but it's enough to be intrigued about what he will bring in future novels and what will develop. Of course Kade, the horse-shifter is still around as he now works for the Directorate and of course he provides great "relief" for Riley as he is undercover at the estate as well, but naturally as one of the horses in the stables! Kade provides us readers with a more comedic touch, and clearly Riley seems more at ease when she is with him because it's so clear about what they want and need from each other (unlike her and Quinn). He is a great addition to the story even if his role is mainly sexy time toy for Riley. He cracks me up!!! I'm still on team Quinn, but i guess we'll have to wait and see!!! Overall it was a solid read. I enjoyed it and do plan on reading the rest of the series. If there is one thing Arthur does do as an author, is she provides much more than just casual sex in this book. The action and violence in this book is intense, and what Riley is going through emotionally with some of the new personal changes that affect her whole being, brings an interesting and different aspect to the novel! If you liked the first two books, i can't see how you won't like this! Enjoy!
