The Talon Pack continues with a new twist to the Packs and a revelation no one was prepared for.

Mitchell Brentwood is aware that others think he’s the harsh taskmaster Beta trying to keep his Pack alive, but they only see what he wants them to know. He’d once thought he had his path laid out before him, but when his future was violently ripped away, he vowed he’d never let anyone close again—especially not a young wolf from a traitorous Pack.

Dawn Levin may be younger than the war that destroyed her people, but she knows she must still pay for their sins. She’s ready to find her way in this new world where wolves and humans blend as one, but first, she needs to fight her attraction to the dark wolf that stands in her way.

While the two struggle with their feelings and burning attraction for each other, they can’t ignore the world that shakes beneath their feet. There is a new enemy on the horizon, one with revenge and the unknown on their minds. An adversary that might be closer than they realize.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Destiny Disgraced" by Carrie Ann Ryan. Book 6 in the Talon Pack series. I just finished reading this book October 03, 2017. This is my review. Such a good book! This book is Mitchell and Dawn's story. And what a story it is! Even though this book is the 6th in the series, it really reads like it's a first book because a whole new story arc is started. A new bad guy is introduced, new shifter Packs are revealed, and the shifter world is expanded introducing new characters and new shifters. Ms. Ryan does an excellent job of creating an ominous feeling of foreboding, teasing the reader as to big changes happening in the Talon Pack world. It's a great set up for the new story arc and possibly another spin-off series withing the Redwood/Talon Pack world. The romance between Mitchell and Dawn is a second chance love story for Mitchell. Grieving for his long dead mate, Mitchell, the Beta of the Talon Pack, is overwhelmed with feelings of betrayal when he meets Dawn and starts to have feelings for her. He's had his one chance at love, he doesn't deserve another one. And even if his human side is falling hard for Dawn, his wolf half is not. Having these feelings betrays his dead mate's memory but he can't deny the attraction between him and Dawn. She's also so much younger than him and her Pack is not even a Pack...yet. She's part of the infamous Central Pack, the Pack that brought forth a demon years ago and nearly destroyed the Talon and Redwood Packs. But she wasn't even born at that time and now her Pack may be recognized again by the goddess. With rogue wolves running loose in their territory and a feeling of something coming, is it really the right time to start a relationship with Dawn? And what kind of relationship can they have when his soul is shattered? I really enjoyed this story. It's very emotional and is really focused on the relationship and love story between Mitchell and Dawn. Ms. Ryan does a great job of really showing Mitchell's struggle with his feelings of betrayal and showing Dawn's struggle with trying to find herself and how she fits into her new world. They chemistry they have together is passionate and steamy. Very well done. Combined with the overall new story arc, the story flows really well and kept my attention the entire time. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next book.
