Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another favourite in a great series! Redeeming a villainous characters is never easy, but Lisa Kleypas does it masterfully. Part of what makes it so perfect is the heroine, who is able to hold her own against her compelling counterpart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved this! This story of Sebastian and Evangeline is so well written you can just see them falling in love despite themselves. This is a wonderful fast paced book that you can not help but keep reading and wanting more. Sebastian is not the cad he wants the world to see he is and Evie not quite the innocent young lady her family thinks she should stay!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My all-time favourite HR! It doesn't matter how many years it's been since I read it the first time, I keep going back to this book and reading it over and over. Really one of the best historical romances out there, and Kleypas is the best author.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well, I'm certainly surprised how much I enjoyed this. Considering I had major reservations after the stunt St. Vincent pulled at the end of the previous novel. I was also pretty miffed at Evie and her decision to pursue him after it was her close friend on the receiving end of said stunt. Nevertheless, the progression of the story saw major changes in both characters - definitely for the better - but there's still a small part of me that can't get over what Sebastian threatened. I enjoyed the setting of the gambling house and seeing Sebastian really come into his own and find his purpose in restoring it. It was also a complete pleasure to see Evie gain confidence and self-assurance, while being a great foil to Sebastian's rake. Nothing to do with this book, but it seems that any predictions I have for future books and pairings turn out to be completely wrong! Read the synopsis for the final book and, again, Daisy is paired with someone entirely different than I expected. I look forward to finishing off the series!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of her best books ever. This book was sexy, full of boisterous laughter and r o m a n t i c. Words cannot express how much I love Lisa Kleypas and her writing and her stories. Devil In Winter was unique, the difference of characters balanced the whole story out, and kept my eyes open all night. I've read this over and over, and will never put it down. Love, love, love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my absolute favourites! This book was just so good. I could not put it down at all. Both the hero, Sebastian, and the heroine, Evie, are perfect for each other. They seem like such an unlikely pair, but they are among my favourite HR couples. I have to say that this is one of Lisa Kleypas's best works. It is a must read for all those who love a good HR novel and a redeemed hero.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fall for the couple Love it for the chemistry and the bantering between the couple. But the 'revenge' plot has become common, it gets predictable. 3.75 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fall for the couple A Regency Period romance. Evie is one of the four wallflowers friends and she is about to inherit the gambling hall owned by her father. But her relatives want to marry her with a cousin, in order to keep the money for themselves. So, Evie proposes marriage to a notorious scoundrel, Lord Sebastian St. Vincent. A marriage of convenience soon becomes something more... Really a great romance with gorgeous characters. I cannot stop to read until finish it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The devil in winter A fun story with lots of twists and turns. The one thing I found a little irritating was the continual use of the word 'sardonic'. It was used to often when other statements would be better. Otherwise it was entertaining reading and worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved It! Sebastian is the Best Reformed Rake yet! This book starts off with stuttering wallflower Evie proposing to the womanizing rake Sebastion in order to escape her abusive family and gain some freedom. Sebastion needs money and woudnt mind getting the fiery red head into bead so agrees. And from there they begin their journey into love. I loved the characters. Evie was lovely and loyal and it was nice to see her confidence boost and her stutter dissapear in the presence of Sebastion. Sebastian was hilarious and the most kind, sexy, gentle, and likeable reformed rake I've ever read about. Usually the womanizing scoundrels turned loving monogamous husband start off completley horrible, making it hard for me to like them even after they have "redeemed' themselves. Sebastian on the other hand was great from the beggining and only got better. I mean, sure there were a few times when i would have punched him had I been Evie, but I never truly disliked him, and it was hilarious and romantic to watch his tranformation. Even though I loved Sebastion, my favorite character was without a doubt Cam. That man made my heart stutter....and hes not even real=|. I cant wait to read his story, though Im dissapointed that he doesn't end with Daisy after that steamy kiss they shared behind the trap door. Anyway read this amazing book and see how a true reformed rake is supposed to be!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful My favorite Wallflower series book. Sebastian is the perfect hero/villain who has met his match with the beautiful but shy Evie Jenner. It doesn't miss out on the drama and suspense, and of course the passionate love between the two.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite Wallflower book! This is by far my favorite book from the wallflower series. The rest of them were bittersweet (not a big fan of the last one though). This one had me up all night with the little happy feeling my stomach. A MUST read especially if your a fan of Lisa Kleypas one of the top romance authors around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gotta Love a Reformed Rake... This is by far my favorite of the wallflower series. Sebastian a well known rake with his good looks, scandalous skills where females are concerned, with an arrogant and ruefully witty personality is approached by Evie, a very beautiful but timid stuttering wallflower; at first. She approaches Sebastian with an offer for a marriage of convenience - he needed the money and she needed to get away from her "noble" family. On one condition - they will consummate the marriage to prevent annulment and that's it - she refuses to become another one of his discarded broken hearts. What begins as a marriage of convenience turns into sensual love. With many meant-to-be-hurtful witty comments on his side, and fieriness on hers, this novel captivates your interest from the first page and keeps you wanting more. You will not be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bad boy makes good. Although this is the third book in the Wallflowers series, it is the first one I have read. I originally started reading Kleypas with her contemporary series, but have come to love her historicals as well. Sebastian is your typical historical debauched hero. He womanizes like the best of them. Even being in his presence alone is enough to ruin an innocent young thing. Not the kind of guy that one thinks a painfully shy girl would turn to for marriage, is it? But Evie, who is very charming with her stutter, is determined to decide who she is to marry by herself and not let her family foist her onto a rather icky cousin. In great historical romantic style, Sebastian steps up to the plate as the world's most unlikely hero, only one catch: Evie stipulates that once their marriage is consumated, they can never sleep together again. Easy, right? Not so fast. Turns out this dastardly rogue is going to try to become her hero in actuality. From theGretna Green, Scotland, to the gaming halls of London, Kleypas delivers a great story filled with sadness, joy, and more then a little great erotism.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lisa Kleypas rocks! Agian Lisa Kleypas has written a beautiful romance - after pouring through the twilight series (I thought I should start dreaming of something other than hot vampires). Devil in Winter is the story of Evie (the shy wall flower) who make a marriage bargin with the Viscount.....the very notorious Viscount. This starts the tale of a marriage meant for convience - but really for love!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely great!!! I have to say this is my favorite book by Lisa Kleypas, I loved the dynamics between Evie and St. Vincent. I had a hard time putting it down the first time I read it, and now have read it for the 3rd time. I definately recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW!! I was thoroughly impressed with this story. It was a real page turner and had me up 'til the wee hours of the night. When the story ended I was saddened because I wanted more. I couldn't get enough of the blossoming romance between Evie and St. Vincent. They were mismatched in every way, but somewhere through the heart of it all they were perfect for each other. Where Evie seeked courage he gave her strength, and where St. Vincent's ruthless heart was concerned she gave him vulnerability. This book was fantastic and written the way a romance novel is suppose to be written. I cannot praise this book enough. I highly recommend this book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! This is probably one of the best written romances that I have ever read! Kleypas really created something special with the story of Evie and Sebastian. It is one of the most beautiful stories imaginable, as if it were taken out of a fairy tale. The way Kleypas set up the premise and moved the story and character along was absolutely perfect. I am hopeful we will see a lot more books from Kleypas like this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kleypas Delivers Lisa Kleypas generally writes intelligent romances with sympathetic characters, but Devil in Winter surpasses even her usual standard and I enjoyed it far more than some of her other recent material. The conversion of an established villain from a previous story into a credible hero is not uncommon in romance literature, but few authors actually pull it off with the success and flair Kleypas demonstrates with Sebastian St. Vincent, one of the villains from the author's previous book in the Wallflower series, It Happened One Autumn. Sebastian's evolution from scoundrel to caring, besotted husband is a credible one (inasmuch as any romance maintains a patina of believability) thanks to the time Kleypas takes to carefully weave the building emotional intimacy between the hero and heroine. I've read most of Kleypas' books and I put this one in the top five. As an aside, the love scenes are definitely blush-worthy – and necessarily so given Sebastian’s history and his character – but it’s something to keep in mind if your romance tastes tend more toward warm and fuzzy than steamy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! This is only the second book by Lisa Kleypas that I have read. I was hooked after reading another one in this collection and this one was amazing. I enjoyed every minute of it.
