Reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weakest link in an otherwise great series My daughter and I have been gobbling up this series since it first came out. The stories are usually very good, with a great balance of fact and fantasy. Unfortunately, in this adventure, the reckless behaviour of the characters really disappointed my daughter and I. Normally during their encounters with dinosaurs, the boys are cautious and practical. In this adventure, a velociraptor steals a piece of technology from the time traveling boys and they have to retrieve it before it is time for them to return to the present. They exercise no caution whatsoever before entering the den of a ferocious predator. To my mind, this sends out a very bad message about dealing with wild animals. The plot of this story is not as well conceived as the others, and it lacks the humour and quick writing that we found so appealing in the first four books. My daughter is a big fan of raptors such as velociraptor, deinonychus, and Utahraptor, so her expectations for this adventure were high. Sadly, she was disappointed in this tale and the way in which her favourite dinosaur was portrayed.
