Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dishwasher A fun book showing another way of thinking and looking at the world. Honest and open about how he felt about his various situations gives you an interesting insight into a very unique person. Although I have often had the same feelings he frequently had I never had the guys to act on them. Probably a good thing. :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a Clean Dish I Wanted to like this book, because I found the idea about some one going to all 50 states to work as dishwasher, just crazy and odd enough to be interesting. because Pete is such a dishonest person it was not possible for me to like this book. For example, once when Pete was working in dining room of a resort a women accused him of stealing her gloves. When Pete found the gloves on a chair he mailed the gloves to a girl friend he had at the time, I believe. Granted the women had no right to blame Pete, But since they were not this gloves, He should have given them back. At a fishing plant in Alaska Pete asked the boss if he could start work a couple of weeks before the fishing season starts, and his boss said yes. then a short time later, ( About three weeks, if that.) he tells the boss he wants to leave. Basically because he had a itch to hit the road. What a jerk! I will admit this book had some funny stories, ( Which is the one and only reason I am giving this book two stars, and not one.) But not enough to make up for Pete's poor behavior as a person. To be fair Pete did have some good moments in the book. The problem is they were far and few between.
