Rated 5 out of 5 by from dont be scared by the price I was hesitant on buying this book due to the price and I was shopping online. If I had seen it in person I would have seen how large this book is and jam packed with fun things to do. I purchased it to years ago for a road trip and we barely scratched the surface of it ! we still pull it out on rainy day s!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't Let the Pigeon Finish This Activity Book! (Pigeon) by Mo Willems As far as activity books go this is one of the most unique, creative, and fun ones we have used. This is a great book to take on vacation so your child has some activities to do while you wait various places or spend time in a hotel. Also would work great as an activity book to do at home. A lot of the activities are more involved than what can be done in the car though - only downside. Otherwise, this is a winner. This book is introduced by the Bus Driver and the Duckling (another character in the stories) is also included. Of course, that naughty Pigeon wants to finish the activity book, so you have to stop him and the Bus Driver is at the bottom of the page to tell you what you need for each activity. This is SO interactive and fun – for example, there are bus doors, which need to be coloured in before you can open them and, when you do so, a mad cow chases the poor Pigeon across the pages! There are pictures to colour, mazes, things to make and do, pictures to draw, picture books to design, rooms to decorate, puppet shows, posters and newspapers to design and on and on and on…

Editorial Reviews

Willems and Codename: Kids Next Door creator Warburton allow readers to really get in touch with Pigeon, Duckling, and other beloved characters in a banter-filled activity book with a hilariously digressive narrative. On each perforated page, the Bus Driver provides instructions for each activity (which include drawing prompts, crafts, games, and more), while Pigeon-no surprise-gently pesters readers ("Now we're done with this activity book, right?"). When an alarmed Pigeon announces, "We're late for a puppet show!?" readers are instructed to craft a paper airplane, which then necessitates building an airport, naturally. Readers also have a hand in creating an elaborate puppet show (that Pigeon sleeps through), by filling in blanks for an exchange featuring a cranky new character, Mad Cow. The humor snowballs, with kids adding their own jokes to the mix, and the laughs will, too. Ages 3 up. Agent: Marcia Wernick, Wernick & Pratt. (Oct.)-PW
