Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! (Pigeon) by Mo Willems The story begins with the pajama-clad bus driver imploring readers not to let his feathered friend stay up late. Pigeon proceeds to cajole, manipulate, persuade and beg to stay up late. Pigeon makes up lots of excuses and has silly ideas. As he does, however, yawns keep escaping from him, until finally Pigeon dozes off, clutching his stuffed bunny.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Strange Little Pigeon... When I opened this "recommended" book I wasn't sure what to make of it... over simplified drawings , no colour or attention grabbing details and humour that I can see adults enjoying. I am curious to see what my grand children make of this book. I will let you know.... PS I think people (adults & bobbins) who like Sandra Boynton books will appreciate these books as well...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A helpful tool My two year old son is just getting to the point of putting up fights to go to bed, but all his anger is thwarted when dad pulls out "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late". He happily sits on dads lap and listens along, and now even yells out "I'M NOT TIRED" and " Plleeasssse" as the pigeon begs to stay up. After they are done reading I get my kiss, and he is happy to go off to bed. The best part is I get to sit back and watch my son and his daddy cuddle up for some one on one bonding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hilarious and well thought out! My girlfriend picked this up this weekend. She was struck by the opening in which a man politley asks the reader to make sure the pigeon doesn't stay up late. the Pigeon's opening line: "First of all, I'm not even tired..." sets the tone for the whole book. From here, there is a witty one sided conversation in which the Pigeon tries to convince the reader that it's alright if he stays up late. Ultimatley the reader becomes a character in the story as they have to listen to the Pigeon whine and complain about going to bed.
