Lost in Wonderland . . .

A fairy-tale dream that became a nightmare, and a woman whose strength helped her find a way out to the other side

At 21, small-town Oregon girl Holly Cullen became Holly Madison, Hugh Hefner’s number one girlfriend. But like Alice’s journey into Wonderland, Holly’s plunge down the rabbit hole took her to a world where all was not as it seemed. The fairy-tale life inside the Playboy Mansion—which included A-list celebrity parties and starring in a number one television show—quickly devolved into an oppressive routine of strict rules, manipulation, and battles with ambitious, backstabbing Bunnies that nearly drove Holly to take her own life.

Down the Rabbit Hole is her introspective account of her time inside the Mansion: the drugs, abuse, infamous parties, and Holly’s real behind-the-scenes life with Bridget, Kendra, and Mr. Playboy himself. It is also her chronicle of healing and hope. By telling her story, both a cautionary tale and a celebration of personal empowerment, Holly reminds us of the importance of fighting for our dreams—and of finding the life we deserve.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Thought it was ok Thought it was ok. Bit of a 'poor me' book. Blames Hef for the way she was treated, but yet she let him treat her like that. She was happy to be his friend after they split, but all of a sudden changed her point of view. I think this book has a lot of blame on other people, rather then herself. Doesnt contain many juice details either.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the juicy tell all it's made out to be I understand that as part of her process Holly needed to tell her side of things which is great. I however found this book to be very whiny and repetitive

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous! I really enjoyed Holly`s book! It was an intriguing story about her time with Playboy, but also her story of triumph. She is also very witty and intelligent- you won't be reading a story from any uneducated blonde bimbo here! LOVE! I would definitely recommend this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wasn't bad! New perspective on Holly Madison. I had watched a few episodes of GND (if it was on) back when it aired. I wasn't a hater, but I wasn't exactly a fan either. I decided to read this book because i'm a sucker for hollywood-esque memoirs and I had seen her ad for Peepshow all over Vegas previous years. Overall, the book seemed to be a bit boring at times, but never caused me to lose interest. I'm glad I read this book, Holly was keen on exposing Hef and the Playboy mansion, I learned a few things (negative) that I otherwise would not have imagined. I read reviews where people had mentioned she was "feeling sorry for herself" or "being dramatic", though I agree, she did put up with a lot of BS. In some ways, her story was actually quite relatable. (the struggle to be satisfied with yourself and come out as your own person). Reading this book, I actually realized there is more to this women than being a blond, fake boobed, ex-girlfriend to Hugh Hefner. She's actually goal oriented, shes a dedicated hard worker, shes smart and she's gone through experiences similar to the rest of us. The part where she talks about dating Criss Angel caught me off guard- wow lol. Overall, not a bad read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifted weight Fantastic read. The depiction of truth Holly lays out in this book feels genuine and heartfelt. By the end of this I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders along with mine. I applaud her for her honest potrayal. Hef never seemed like a genuine character, a man who created a life like that could never be sincere. I had no problem believing her version of events. Good on you Holly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Revealing Finally, a peek behind the iron gate! A truly great read, without being too sensationalistic, and with good pacing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Page turner! Not just a book about playboy. Its a book about fixing yourself if you are broken rather than relying on others. Very inspiring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly good! An intersting prospective. It gives you a juicy and often creepy look at what really happend behind the scenes. I thought she did a great job writing this book. It must have been difficult to lay it all on the line like that. Everyone has made a bad decision or two in their life, but it is nice to see how she grew and learned from some of hers. Kudos!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book I loved it. It was an honest book about her life and what she went through to get where she is today. I also love te fact that she is showing that looks come and go and that even girls who fit into the pretty category also feel self doubt about themselves. Its not always whats on the outside but what is in the inside that counts

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Tell All You Wanted Since I was a closet viewer of the show The Girls Next Door back in the early 2000s I was slightly eager to see what tell-all information Holly was going to share in her book. Along with all the sad details of what life was like as Hugh Hefner's #1 Girlfriend I do like that she wanted to share her mistakes so they can prevent someone else from making similar ones. I do think the goal was also to give someone the courage to leave a bad situation (while blasting her past in a book for us all to read).
