Rated 2 out of 5 by from Out-Dated Once, this was the bible of poker books; it's contents invaluable. Nowadays, however, most of the information in this book is either useless (for the games that no longer exist or are rarely played) or out-dated. I would advise getting the Super/System 2 instead, as the games included are all still in rotation. For those of you solely interested in Hold 'Em, skip these books and get The Theory of Poker by David Sklansky as well as Harrington On Hold 'Em, Volumes 1 and 2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super System Written by the poker GOD himself , Mr. Doyle Brunson. This book is a definite must have for all players. Beginner to pro. It has the best collection of poker tips you will find anywhere. If followed, you WILL be a better poker player. I have both Super System and Super System 2 and can honestly tell you it changed my game from a so so game to a winning game. This is my bible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Poker Bible This book lives up to its hype. After hearing all the talk about this book I was curious to actually read it to see if it would improve my game. I borrowed it from a friend and after reading the first few pages of the Hold 'Em section, I bought my own copy. It's a MUST HAVE for any poker player, serious or recreational. It WILL improve your game if you take what he says into mind when playing. It is very well written and even a beginner (like myself when I first read it) can understand the concepts. I can't wait for Super System 2 to come out so I can add it to the collection; then I'll have The Old Testament and The New Testament handy when I'm playing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Living Legend Doyle Brunson is a living legend of poker. He's practically a poker god himself. He has a hand named after him for god's sake! (The 10-2 is a Doyle Brunson) Read this book and it will help you out more than you can imagine. I cant wait for the advanced techniques in Super System 2, when does it come out?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Poker Bible This book, widely considered to be the bible of poker, revealed a great number of secrets used by the pros still to this day. After reading this book you can't help but feel that you have an advantage over others at the table. However, because the book was so revolutionary and read by so many people, many of the techniques shared are somewhat outdated. Many players have found ways, for example, to combat Doyle Brunson's overly aggressive style of play. Still, this book is still instrumental in improving your game. THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS! Super System 2 is due out soon, surely addressing some of the issues stated above.
