Rated 5 out of 5 by from ABSOLUTELY GREAT GREAT READ!! This book really surprised me. I had been in the local dept. store book shelf and picked it up on a whim...Boy was I glad I did. This book had me captivated right from the word go. Had a hard time putting it down. Think I read it like in a day and a half and would have done it in one day had I had the time. Adam Zolton is a journalist who is looking to expose dark magic. Enter in Grace Armatrading who is a healer and also a Mage. She has been marked for death. Someone is out there taking out all the mages. Adam and Grace have a bad history together. I really like how K.Nance was able to bring them both together after such a bad history. They had had a brief affair and it didn't end well. There is lots of magic in this book...and Nance writes it well so you can understand what is going on. A lot of times writing about magic is not easy to do to make it understandable and Nance brings it all together. Nance really brings out the emotions of both characters too. Was not liking Adam at all at first after finding out how he treated Grace and felt so bad for her. When a book can bring out my emotions , that is a sign of a good book for me. I highly recommend this book. You will not be sorry.
