What power can bruise the sky?

Two worlds are poised on the brink of a vicious war. By way of a staggering deception, Karou has taken control of the chimaera's rebellion and is intent on steering its course away from dead-end vengeance. The future rests on her.

When the brutal angel emperor brings his army to the human world, Karou and Akiva are finally reunited--not in love, but in tentative alliance against their common enemy. It is a twisted version of their long-ago dream, and they begin to hope that it might forge a way forward for their people. And, perhaps, for themselves.

But with even bigger threats on the horizon, are Karou and Akiva strong enough to stand among the gods and monsters?

The New York Times bestselling Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy comes to a stunning conclusion as--from the streets of Rome to the caves of the Kirin and beyond--humans, chimaera, and seraphim strive, love, and die in an epic theater that transcends good and evil, right and wrong, friend and enemy.
Laini Taylor is the New York Times bestselling author of the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy: Daughter of Smoke & Bone, Days of Blood & Starlight, and Dreams of Gods & Monsters, and the companion e-novella, Night of Cake & Puppets. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok I enjoyed the first two books. The main storyline of the third book was good. But then they added a human character that was new and also had Akiva's grandmother added to the plot. I think she should have left these two parts out. It was as if she had a certain number of pages to fulfill and added some boring, confusing characters that I did not think added to the story. Still recommend it if you have read the first two, otherwise there are better series out there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Review from This is the Story of My(Reading) Life Accomplishment finally achieved. May have taken three years to get here, but I'm finally done this beast of a trilogy. Taylor's writing and story telling stays consistently beautiful throughout all three books. At times the story seems like it's going fast but really this is truly a slow burn of a tale. Just like the romance. I won't admit to understanding everything. A lot of the explanations and added tales were pretty confusing. It also wasn't as rough on my emotions as predicted it would be. Everything worked out in the end. It seems like the door is open for more possibilities with these characters and the future of their world. What I really really need is, at least, a book(or even better a series) centred around my two favourite humans. More Zuzana and Mik is a need. A desire. Make it happen, Taylor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome series! I totally enjoyed this series. It was interesting and action-packed. I was glad that the angels and chimaera were finally working together for the same cause. Karou and Akiva were finally on good terms, which I was totally waiting for and things were finally looking good for the future of Eretz. I would recommend this series to fans of fantasy and romance. And I was quite satisfied with the way the series ended. #plumreview

Editorial Reviews

"For all the well-made trappings of fantasy and horror, the patchwork amalgamation of myth and legend, the machinations of plot, and the colorful menagerie of ensemble characters, this story remains, at heart, a romance-clear-eyed, tender, and satisfying."-The Horn Book
