about

There are approximately 3,712 ways for a guy to look stupid during pregnancy - this book's here to help you avoid all(most) of them. And here's your first hint: Focus on what you can be doing for her rather than what's happening to her.

She's pregnant. She knows that. You know that. And her 152 baby books tell her exactly what she can expect. Your job is to learn what you can do between the stick turning blue and the drive to the delivery room to make the next nine months go as smoothly as possible. That's where John Pfeiffer steps in.

Like any good coach, he's been through it. He's dealt with the morning sickness and doctor visits, painting the baby's nursery and packing the overnight bag, choosing a name, hospital, and the color of the car-seat cover. All the while he remained positive and responsive - there with a "You're beautiful" when necessary - but assertive during the decision-making process (he didn't want to wind up with a kid named Percy). And now it's your turn.

She might be having the baby, but you have plenty of responsibilities.

John Pfeiffer is a married father of three. With a stepdaughter, a naturally conceived daughter, and a baby by way of a threesome (with an IVF specialist), Pfeiffer is especially qualified to take expectant dads all the way through pregnancy's home stretch. He lives with his wife and kids in Georgia.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Irritating, stereotypical "dude" humour As a soon-to-be father, I was looking for a book that would help me wrap my head around pregnancy and parenthood from a man's perspective. I got through a chapter of this and had to put it down. It's full of really irritating stereotypical "guy" humour (i.e. men are all about man caves, football, ignoring the needs of women and stupidity). Don't bother.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Book You Will Find for Daddy-to-be! My hubby read a little, but isn't quite much of a reader. So I started reading it to him late in bed, or every 3 minute intermission between rounds of Call of Duty :P. It's very informative and also humorous. This will help your daddy-to-be be prepared for what to expect, and to help out in different ways like doing the laundry once and a while, going to the store to get ice cream, or having gingerale and crackers on the night stand for when we're feeling sick. We've only read a third of this book, but already love it! Would definitely recommend this to any couples who are planning or already expecting!
