Not only does the food photography shine, the recipes actually get your gears turning and thinking about what you might be able to modify for future recipes of your own. It's also an excuse to try out some new ingredients, step a little out of your comfort zone in terms of flavours - and to help make cooking delicious meals an exciting process! Favourite recipe thus far: Sriracha-Roasted Cauliflower

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cookbook ever This is easily one of my favourite cookbooks ever! So many great ideas, easy to find ingredients, and not complicated recipes. The pictures and set up is exactly what I look for in a cookbook (they must have a picture of every recipe so I know what it's supposed to look like). The author recently started posting recipes videos on youtube, and I'm hoping for a second cookbook by him already! Overall, this book just ticked all my boxes, and I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's What You Want to Make A link to a contest for a food truck in NB lead me to this cookbook. Who is Dennis The Prescott and why have I never heard of him. Well, that changed in the matter of a week. I started seeing this cookbook everywhere and then he was on my TV appearing on Harry. One look at this cookbook and I knew I had to buy it. Anyone that knows me know I do not NEED another cookbook but it is never about need, it's all want, and I WANTED this book. The photography draws you in, but when you take the time to read the recipes, you realize it is food you want to eat. I particularly appreciate that he makes everything. I hate "assembly" cookbooks, you know the ones I mean, the ones that say "take one box of cake mix..." I don't always have a boxed cake mix in my house but I always have flour, eggs, vanilla...I've already made the English muffins recipe with relative success (I didn't use a griddle with a thermostat and burned the first two) and I'm looking forward to eating my way through this book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You Da Man, Dennis! The Man: I've been following the genius that is Dennis Prescott for a few years on Instagram and I've never been disappointed. He is as genuine and authentic a spirit as they come. Despite his insane talent and skill both as a photographer and as a chef, he remains refreshingly down-to-Earth and incredibly humble. The Book: The title of this book could not have been more appropriate, as Dennis has always been passionate about cooking food that people actually WANT to eat as opposed to foods they think they should be eating. His photography is mesmerizing in this regard, taking anything from an ordinary burger patty to a simple french fry and making it look otherworldly. Dennis cooks from the heart and it shows. Everything he does, he does WELL. Because he refuses to cave to trends or submit his style to nonsense fads, he IS the new trend. His photography stands out, his flatlays are subjects to be envious of, one can practically lick the gravy off of his strip steaks and on more than one occasion I've tricked my body and tongue into thinking I'd already eaten after simply staring at a tray of his burgers for a few minutes. This was a brilliant first attempt and I truly cannot wait to see what else Dennis has in store in the years (or even days!) to come!

The recipes seem really accessible for my intermediate skill level and there are many recipes that are appealing to my palate. This book does not require any crazy fancy equipment or many specialty ingredients. So far I have made the seafood chowder, and despite never having made a chowder or having cooked with clams and scallops before, it was fantastic! Probably the best soup I've ever made! This book deserves 5 stars and I'm looking forward to making many other delicious recipes in the future!

Dennis' personality shines through in the writing and the photography. The recipes are not simply ingredients, they have a story that will warm your heart before you even start cooking. Eat Delicious portrays a strong love of family, food, and photography that you just can't fake.
