The book is full of interesting helpful information. The food charts are easy to decipher. Joel Fuhrman has a number of books but this was the one I started with first, and after working with it gradually moved on to purchase the rest. If you are lost and looking for guidelines read this.

A definitive must-read for anyone, wether you're already vegan, just thinking about it or don't really like the idea/concept.

I can appreciate the research and the intention behind this book, but it definitely didn’t make me feel very good about myself...yet it also didn’t really inspire me to make any significant changes in my life. The data available versus the price of the book makes it a great investment. Even if you still want to continue eating meat, it is worth reading, because of the serious information about many foods, including how to consume them. However, he is very convincing about letting go of meat, milk products and eggs. He maintains a web site that can be accessed for free. He is on a crusade for health through nutrition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! I've given many of these books away. I was diagnosed with CFS/ME, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, high cholesterol and triglycerides and needed to loose weight. I am fairly symptom free and blood tests are much better. It really works for sustained weight control. It's logical information based on long term research, not a fad diet book. If you are serious about making a commitment to being healthy and pain free, it works. The title explains the program. Give it a few weeks on the program to get rid of the toxins and feel great and it's hard to go back to eating "junk".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Program Works I followed the Eat to Live Program since we saw Joel Fuhrman on a Channel 17 health program a few years ago. The weight came off quickly and three years later, the weight fluctuation has been appx 5-7lbs. It is not hard to follow and you aren't hungry and the food gives you a better appreciation for the natural produce we have in Ontario. I recommend this program to everyone who, not only wants to lose weight, but who wants to keep their body in top condition from the inside out. I love this program. Read the book first. Then read it again. Understand what he's saying and you'll be amazed but the SUSTAINABLE results.
