Rated 1 out of 5 by from Similar sub-par experience I was also led to believe this was a book. Upon picking it up from the store I realized that it was an e-text and was very disappointed. This website should specifically state that the product is an e-text and that it will cost more to keep the book longer than 180 days if the e-text option is chosen. This product is not comparable to the hard copy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is not a book, it is 180 day access to the Pearson site to view the book CAUTION: This is not the loose leaf version of the book. You will receive a card giving you access to the online version for 180 days. I called Indigo support and was told that (1) this was clearly stated on the site, and (2) the 180 days only referred to how long I had to download the book. Based on that, I registered the code and discovered that if I want to download the book, I have to pay again. If you are looking to pay near-book price for limited time web access, this is for you. I am disappointed in Chapters for what I believe to be misinformation and in myself for believing them.

Editorial Reviews

“What is unique about this text is how thorough, yet concise it is. I have not seen that in many texts like this. . . . The clear and concise writing style . . .  allows students to use cognitive resources where they are most needed–critiquing and conceptualizing research problems and studies. . . . The presentation of strategies, samples, and specific techniques is a great match for the tools-based approach to teaching research methods. This is great for helping students actually know how to DO research.” –Tracey Stuckey-Mickell, Ohio State University   “The writing style is very clear. It is as engaging as this topic can be. . . .” –Kathleen Gee, California State University, Sacramento   “Outstanding use of examples and visual aid features.” –Maria D. Vasquez, Florida Atlantic University   “Definite strengths:  organization, easy to read, accessible, great explanations, charts, steps. Chapters are of the perfect length, not too long, yet very informative.  I could see my students liking the text. . . . It’s very concise, yet has lots of information.” –Anne Dahlman, Minnesota State University - Mankato
