In the Stars Wars galaxy, evil is on the move as the Galactic Alliance and Jedi order battle forces seen and unseen, from rampant internal treachery to the nightmare of all-out war.

With each victory against the Corellian rebels, Jacen Solo becomes more admired, more powerful, and more certain of achieving galactic peace. But that peace may come with a price. Despite strained relationships caused by opposing sympathies in the war, Han and Leia Solo and Luke and Mara Skywalker remain united by one frightening suspicion: Someone insidious is manipulating this war, and if he or she isn’t stopped, all efforts at reconciliation may be for naught. And as sinister visions lead Luke to believe that the source of the evil is none other than Lumiya, Dark Lady of the Sith, the greatest peril revolves around Jacen himself. . . .

Features a bonus section following the novel that includes a primer on the Star Wars expanded universe, and over half a dozen excerpts from some of the most popular Star Wars books of the last thirty years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best one so far!! (little spoiler) Having read all of the "Legacy of the Force" books & quite a few in the other "Star Wars" series, I have to say that this series is definitely the best. Aaron Allston does a fantastic job at bringing the characters that I have grown up loving to life. Not only does he stay true to the original flavour of the films, he adds a whole new dimension to these characters. The only thing that I have to say against this book (and it's not really a criticism) is that it completely leaves you hanging and dying for more, which is actually a GOOD thing!! I can't wait to see how "Sacrifice" turns out though I have a horrible feeling on who is going to be Jacen Solo's sacrifice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best in the series so far! I can't believe how fast I have been reading this book! I bought it a week ago and I only have two more chapters left! I can't stop reading it! I find that out of all three authors in this series so far I like Aaron Allston's books the most. Surprisingly I found myself very intrigued by the storyline involving Ben Skywalker, he seems to be going through something that will force him to soon choose between Luke Skywalker and Jacen Skywalker. I can't wait for the final book in this series! The one thing I love about all of these books is all the talk about the Sith and all it's lore. We travel to one sith planet in this book and I hope that we get to see more sith planets in some of the other books also. Great read. One of the best Star Wars books I've read so far!
