Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Because Of Instructions Though I am a seasoned cook, this book taught me and reminded me of better ways to prepare. Beginners will love it, instructions/methods, are the best I have ever read in a cookbook. Everything I have made so far is very delicious, family loves it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Cookbook!! I ordered this book online and was so surprised at what a beautiful and large book it was when it arrived! There are photos for each recipe and the book is nicely organized so you can find what you're looking for. I've tried many of the recipes and they've all turned out wonderfully! Best of all, the kids love them too! A wonderful go-to cookbook, so happy I ordered it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some good easy to make meals I received this cookbook last month and have made 2 of the recipes to date. One was a smash hit and the other was middling. There are a couple of more that I am anxious to try. I think that the cookbook was a very good purchase in that there are a number recipes that suit my family's taste and there are some that I think my family members will be willing to try that are new and just a little exotic compared the the regular home menu.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An incredible addition to your cookbook collection I purchased this cookbook as requested as a gift for Christmas. Loving cookbooks myself, I was so curious that I just had to look at it. Well guess what, I want one too! Everything about it is perfect....the selection of recipes, the illustrations are so appetizing, great details on how to make each delicious recipe. I have always adored Michael Smith for his love and simplicity in the kitchen. Thank you Michael for sharing your love of cooking and I do look forward to trying your recipes and purchasing more of your wonderful cookbooks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't wait to start cooking! I bought this book a couple of days ago and I want to make SO many of the recipes. Nearly all of them can be made with things I already have in my kitchen, or aren't difficult to find at any grocery store. I think my 3 year old will enjoy a lot of them as well. He also gives some great tips on quick snacks and lunches, as well as keeping your kitchen organized (a big issue for me!) Once I make a couple of the recipes I'll post an update.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another excellent Cookbook from Michael Smith This is a brand new book from Chef Michael Smith. I really enjoy the recipes and pictures in the book. The pictures illustrate each recipe and I usually cook the recipes that look good to me All the recipes are simple (not complicated) and use ingredients that I have. I also loved the small pictures at the back of the book that allow me to quickly skim through the recipes . I also liked the Pureed vegetable soup recipes with the flavour partner and on Page 96 stir in stuff like Barley, quinoa Rice etc. to add to anything anytime. I made the Chicken pasta which was really quick. Michael uses store bought Rotisserie Chicken in a few recipes which is great as it cuts food preparation time and provides another use for the chicken. This is called Family Meals, I found it good for cooking for two of us and having leftovers. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Family Cookbook This is a gorgeous cookbook! Chef Michael Smith is not only a celebrity chef, he also cooks for his family every day. Family Meals is a fun yet practical cookbook which is exactly like Chef Michael Smith's style. I am impressed with the amount of good, practical recipes. And with his obvious love of hot sauce! It is laid out in straight-forward manner and is beautifully illustrated. It is divided into the following sections: Breakfast and Brunch Lunchbox and Snacks Simple Salads Cook Ahead Soups, Stews and Casseroles Slow Cookers and Pressure Cookers Family Meals in Minutes Meatless Mondays Vegetables and Whole Grains Sweets and Treats Some of the recipes that I would like to try are Special Shrimp Fried Rice, Tortilla Lasagna, Chili-Glazed Sweet Potatoes, Herb Roast Tomatoes and A Pan of Pork Chops with Marmalade Mustard Pan Sauce.....MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm! And for dessert: Fallen Chocolate Cake Stuffed with Whipped Cream and Flaming Banana Splits. I have already made the Ice Cream Sandwiches...divine! Highly recommend!
