Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delightful As usual Dahl's novel is full of delightful action and descriptive language that entertains all ages.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay Fantastic Mr. Fox is an okay story that children would probably enjoy. It is definitely not Roald Dahl's best books. The story line was not interesting, and the solution to Mr. Fox's problem was somewhat predictable. Fantastic Mr. Fox is about Mr. Fox, who steals chickens and other food from three farmers' farms. The farmers decide that they must shoot the fox. Find out how Mr. Fox gets himself and his family out of this mess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just wonderful I listened to "Fantastic Mr. Fox," on audio, unabridged. I have to say, there's just something about someone reading you a children's book that I find lovely. Fantastic Mr. Fox is about said fox, who has a family of three fox cubs, and a wife, and lives in the middle of three very nasty farmers. The farmers decide it's time for the fox - and all the digging animals, to go, and it's up to Mr. Fox to figure a way out of the mess he's in, before all the animals starve. The story is a delight, the farmers are nasty in ways kids will giggle over, and the animals are quick and lively. The end result is a lot of fun, and I remember reading this as a child and imagining and drawing maps of the story's ultimate resolution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hilariously Funny! Three nasty farmers decide to get rid of the fox and his family once and for all. The fox finds himself in a predicament but after some thinking he comes up with a plan that outsmarts the farmers. This is a hilariously funny book. I've read it several times now and it still makes me chuckle. In the 7yo's own words, he "loved it!" This is an especially fun book to read aloud and Quentin Blake's delicious illustrations on every page are just as much fun as the story itself. Recommended for all ages.
