Fear: A Gone Novel

by Michael Grant

HARPERCOLLINS PUBLISHERS | March 16, 2012 | Hardcover

Fear: A Gone Novel is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.

It's been one year since all the adults disappeared. Gone.

Despite the hunger and the lies, even despite the plague, the kids of Perdido Beach are determined to survive. Creeping into the tenuous new world they've built, though, is perhaps the worst incarnation yet of the enemy known as the Darkness: fear.

Within the FAYZ, life breaks down while the Darkness takes over, literally-turning the dome-world of the FAYZ entirely black. In darkness, the worst fears of all emerge, and the cruelest of intentions are carried out. But even in their darkest moments, the inhabitants of the FAYZ maintain a will to survive and a desire to take care of the others in their ravaged band that endures, no matter what the cost.

Fear, Michael Grant's fifth book in the bestselling dystopian Gone series, will thrill readers . . . even as it terrifies them.

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but Seems Like the series isn't as good. I find that the book series is just starting to get a little bland. I find there isn't as much action as there was in the first and second book. The characters though were great and the ending was amazing but the start and the middle were a little bit boring. I liked most of the events and they were well thought out and amazing. But I find the series is starting to be less action and thrilling and more boring. :/

About the Author

Michael Grant, author of the Gone series and the Magnificent Twelve series, has spent much of his life on the move. Raised in a military family, he attended ten schools in five states, as well as three schools in France. Even as an adult he kept moving, and in fact he became a writer in part because it was one of the few jobs that wouldn't tie him down. His fondest dream is to spend a year circumnavigating the globe and visiting every continent. Yes, even Antarctica. He lives in California with his wife, Katherine Applegate, and their two children.
