Editorial Reviews

"We don't see ordinary women in the movies very often, but in Film Society they and their funny poignant stories are the stars of the show." - Chatelaine Magazine

Employee Review

Mitchell has used actual familiar places in her story, which takes place mainly in and around Stirling, just north of Belleville, Ontario. Sadie is the main storyteller. Life revolves around monthly get-togethers with Sadie and her six closest female friends, to watch a selected movie on video. Several chapters are dedicated to each of these friends and their relationships with their male partner -- or partners. This is a well-written novel, but the content may not be to everyone's liking.
