about

Secrets prove deadly in Book Two of the Burn for Burn trilogy from New York Times bestselling author Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian.

Lillia, Kat, and Mary had the perfect plan. Work together in secret to take down the people who wronged them. But things didn’t exactly go the way they’d hoped at the Homecoming Dance.

Not even close.

For now, it looks like they got away with it. All they have to do is move on and pick up the pieces, forget there was ever a pact.

But there is something seriously wrong with sweet, little Mary. If she can’t control her anger, she’s sure someone will get hurt. Mary understands now that it’s not just that Reeve bullied her—it’s that he made her love him.

It seems once a fire is lit, the only thing you can do is let it burn…
Jenny Han was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned an MFA in writing for children at New School University. She lives in New York City.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from MIssed the Mark ** spoiler alert ** I really would have given this book a bit higher rating but the author went and ruined - or at least tainted - the story by what I thought at first was witchy behavior and then turned it into ghosts! So stupid! I love a plot twist more than anyone but ghosts?!? Really! Wasn't Lilia screwing Mary over enough?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Sequel! After reading Burn for Burn, one thinks to oneself: "how in the world are Han and Vivian going to top this book"...and yet somehow they did! Amazing page turner, and somehow more chilling than the first!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I liked this this had a lot of action going on it in it. it was good if you like thriller stories. i'm not exaclty sure if it would be thriller or horror though. This would make a good TV show.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I did not expect that I really liked this second book. I thought this was a normal contemporary book, but I was not prepared for the part about ghosts being one of the MC. Also, I can't help but start admiring Reeve

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a Page Turner!! This was by far the best book in the series. So many secrets were revealed that brought so much energy and drama to the story and made the story even better. This book were much more fast paced than Burn for Burn and Ashes to Ashes. I kept turning the page to see what happened next. It was an amazing read and I enjoyed it very much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You'll finish it in one shot! Honestly, the concept of this book is like the movie John Tucker Must Die with an insane twist which makes it a million times better. It's definitely worth staying up all night to finish! I can not wait for the release of the third book!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So great! We're back with Mary, Lillia and Kat. Three very distinct teenage girls who are reaping the consequences of their planned embarrassment of both Reeve and Rennie. Not too much detail on plot because it could be a spoiler if you haven't read Burn for Burn yet. These are the girls that I necessarily didn't like in high school. The ones that played games, and back stabbed you in the back. Sure they're doing it for the greater good but it's not right. You would never do the things these characters did in real life. That is why I ultimately liked this one as well. You're dropped into the character's lives at a moment's notice and it's easy to see how each of their lives affect the decisions they make. Oh l love the growth of Lillia's character. She grows from a princess to an astute young women. She made a mistake and she realizes it. Her princess endearments of Mommy and Daddy made me cringe but I learned to ignore it. It is part of her character after all. We also find out what really happens with Lillia and Rennie, and it's not pretty. I also had to say that the Asian habits found in this book is incredibly true. You respect your parents no matter what. Just like Lillia you must shut your mouth and remember to swallow your pride and never ever talk back. The shoe thing is also so true which is so great because it's truly relatable. There's also the sense that Lillia felt of sometimes being an outsider just because of the colour of her skin. I'm so glad there's the voices of Jenny and Siobhan for teenagers everywhere. This is like watching a train wreck.. You know it's coming, and you can't take your eyes off it. There's also little hints here and there dropped meticulously about Mary.. It fueled my curiosity so much. And that ending..I didn't see it coming and I was plenty surprised. Fire with Fire is just like Mean Girls the movie. Only better, it's a book..sure it can be cliche with it's high school cliques, backstabbing friends and revenge, but the book has heart. They go about the wrong way to fixing their problems, and you can see their struggles when they realize they crossed a line. Ultimately it's also a book about friendship and how far you'll go to protect them. I just loved this one. Expect a contemporary read with a paranormal twist! Read it and you won't be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very very good sequel cannot wait for 3rd book wow! is all i can say. awesome sequel. my fingers could not flip fast enough. in fact i stayed up late every night to read "just 1 more chapter...ok 1 more...ok 1 more now and im going to sleep afterwards" same characters as burn for burn. except fire with fire has more action, devious planning, hate, suspense and a twist at the end. what the heck is happening? what has happened since we've started this series? huh, are you serious that's what was happening? somethings that happened are predictable, but there are a few twists as well. honestly these books are guilty pleasures- like if you watch bachelor, pretty little lairs, gossip girl or any other show that does not contribute to your life in a significant way and you really don't need to think at all. BUT you are completely addicted and need to know what happens. THIS IS THE NOVEL VERSION. enjoy i cannot wait for the final book.
