Lovely and dauntless, abducted by invaders from across an icy sea, Lady Breena vowed vengeance swearing no Viking brute would be her master no barbarian would enslave her noble Celtic heart, but then came Garrick Haardrad, the proud and powerful son of a ruthless Viking chieftain.

One of the world’s most successful authors of historical romance, every one of Johanna Lindsey’s previous novels has been a national bestseller, and several of her titles have reached the #1 spot on the New York Times bestseller list. Ms. Lindsey lives in New England with her family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great read This one is a great example of Johanna's story telling. You may wonder at times "how is this a romance novel" but I swear you will find out if you continue to read it. The story also continues with their children in "Hearts Aflame" and "Surrender my Love" which were also great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ok it's fine book not the best one but it's ok. maybe if you want to learn something more about Vikings and history... I like old England more and stories born in that period and land

Rated 2 out of 5 by from An OK read I only gave this book a 2 because this book starts off violently. At first I wasn't sure what to make of this book because of it. I had to put it down, because it just wasn't what I was expecting. When I picked the book back up, the rest of the story wasn't so bad. The two main characters hate each other, and I'm not exactly sure how or when they fell in love. I only reccommend this book because it continues with their children in "Hearts Aflame" and "Surrender my Love", which I gave rave reviews on. You don't have to read this book to read the other two, but once you do you want to hear what happens next and how their lives follow.
