Rated 4 out of 5 by from book sugestions I thought that Need was a very interesting novel. I liked it but it's not one of my favourite books. If you liked this book, you should read Evermore, the first book of the Immortals series by Alison Noel. Also, The Mortal Instruments series is slightly similar and an AMAZING read. All in all I enjoyed this book but I have read better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good story I?m not one to read Fey books, but this one had a decent enough rating on GoodReads so as soon as I saw it sitting on the library shelf I had to pick it up. Zara?s mom sends 16 year old Zara to live with her stepfather?s mother in Maine. Ever since her stepfather died of a heart attack right in front of her she hasn?t been the same. Citing a list of phobias whenever she?s feeling particularly emotional her thought turn to the list to distract herself. Much like a plot that lines up with Stephenie Meyer?s Twilight, Zara is the new girl in town and also catches the eye of residential hottie, Nick. With the whimsical thoughts of a teenage girl that screams how ?hot? her crush is, the writing is fluid, a little corny and an entertaining read. Filled with feys, werewolves, and other paranormal creatures of the sort, Need captured my attention and gave me an entertaining read to begin my journey into the pixie world.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad.. I just get a little frustrated with this series because it never ends. That's basically my only problem. This book was amazing and I can't wait for the finale, whenever that will be. -.-

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this book It's been a while since I read a good book that I can't let go. This one is the 1st book of the series and I got all of them and I can't wait to read the next one. This series is not about Vampires it is about pixie. One again there's a romance and some suspense. If you liked Vampire Academy and the House of Night series (which I may add are my favorite up to date) you will love this series as well. Please Enjoy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Twilight copy This is a light and quick read. Nothing more. It's equipped with all the expected cliches- such as evil snotty popular blondie, hot mysterious boy, awkward girl, awkward girl's even more awkward friend, awkward girl/hot mysterious boy romance and the supernatural. It was an easy read and I finished it within 2 days, which I liked. Also there was some good characterization, with the grandmother. There are a few things that bothered me above all else. They are: Zara was a bit hypocritical at the end with the way they defeated the pixies, and the fact that Zara and her friends found out all about pixies after looking it up in the library for like half the afternoon. Overall, it's just an easy read without depth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyable Read This book was better than most YA books I have been reading lately. I actually connected with the characters better and cared what happened to them. I think part of it is my bias towards shifter characters, but maybe it's just better story telling as well. It still isn't perfect and I felt parts of the story were very jarring, hopping from one part to another too rapidly. Also not super impressed with the way it ended, everything always seems so rushed in books nowadays, but of course there is always enough left unfinished at the end to leave you hanging for a sequel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Carrie Jones’ Need series intrigued me when I first heard about it. A story about pixie? I had never really read one before. Based on the back of the book, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t think it would be a masterpiece. And I was right. First of all, the characters are not that bad. Zara can be kind of annoying sometimes, and Bella-ish, but still, I liked her. Nick looked like the perfect fictional crush, but the hero complex started annoying me at some point. The plot is interesting, even if they’re a sense of déjà-vu to it. The love triangle with Zara, Nick, and Ian, the “I would die to protect you” kind of personality… Still, the book ended up captivating me. I couldn’t really put it down for too long. I really wanted to know what would happen. The writing may not be fabulous, the story maybe not extremely original (except for the pixie aspect), but I still enjoyed it. Rated 3 out of 5 by from An okay predictable read Zara is a girl who moves from a sunny place to somewhere cold and she feels that someone is following her. That doesn't become obvious to her until she gets to school. She names phobias as a coping mechanism which I found to be the cool part in the book. Thoughout the whole book, you know something is going on with Nick, Derick, Ian, Megan and even Betty. The plot becomes predictable in the middle of the book. The ending, you know that Zara has to do something to stop more boys from disappearing and that's the only intruiging part. Apart from that, it's an easy read and just something to keep you occupied for the day when nothing better is going on.
