It's been both a source of delight and comfort for her, but also the cause of an ongoing struggle with her weight. With dishes created and prepared alongside her favorite chefs, paired with personal essays and memories from Oprah herself, this cookbook offers a candid, behind-the-scenes look into the life (and kitchen!) of one of the most influential and respected celebrities in the world. Delicious, healthy, and easy to prepare, these are the recipes Oprah most loves to make at home and share with friends and family. From simple pleasures like Unfried Chicken and Turkey Chili, to such celebrations of freshness as Tuscan Kale and Apple Salad and Pasta Primavera, this is food as it should be: a taste of happiness, a ritual to be shared, a toast to life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! I follow WW and have for years. I am not a huge Oprah fan and I grudgingly bought this cookbook. But I have to admit, it's AMAZING! The recipes are great, easy to follow (though some use lots of ingredients and pots and pans), but the things I'v made so far have all been fantastic. Really recommended even if you don't care about WW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Book I am one of those people who enjoy reading cookbooks. Even if I don't make a recipe from it. This book is beautiful. The photography is beyond gorgeous. Her stories at the beginning of each chapter are heartfelt. I couldn't put this book down. There are some ingredients I won't be able to find in my local grocery stores and others that will probably taste the best during the summer months when the farmers market is open. But I have bookmarked a few to try in the near future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE LOVE LOVE A must have. I read the reviews for this book and was a bit discouraged. However I decided to take a chance and I am so glad that I did. I have made several recipes from this book and each one is AMAZING!!! Like with any cooking you can be creative and substitute for something else that you have at home or that is available. Just made the meatloaf tonight and my husband was so impressed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun recipes I love Oprah as it is, so I particularly enjoyed the introductions to each new chapter, as we got a glimpse into Oprah's life. Some of the recipes are a bit complicated for me personally but I've found enough in here (and healthy!) to justify the purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from An honest cookbook. I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this. I wasdisappointed in the font and found it a bit difficult to red. There is lots of blank room on the pages to make the recipe font bigger and darker, thus easier to read. I enjoyed some of the recipes. There is a fried chicken recipe, then a healthier version. Oprah is a paid spokeswoman for Weight wacthes and she references them throughout the book, as well as has the points level per serving with each of the 117 recipes. She has handwritten in on each page as well which I found the handwriting a little difficult to read as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's ok Not what I expected but will keep it in my library for now!
Date published: 2017-01-13
Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's okay The recipes looked great, However, she uses a lot of truffle. Not sure about you, but truffle isn't easy to find nor is it cheap. Also, no serving size. Seriously! If this is supposed to be geared to the Weight Watchers plan then there should be portion sizes. And also, fried chicken at 21 smartpoints! Are you kidding me! I can't believe Weight Watchers even allowed that.

Editorial Reviews

"If you are a fan of entertainment mogul Winfrey, you'll love this book...Winfrey's long struggle with weight is well-known. And no matter what you think of her ties with Weight Watchers, you have to concede she knows of what she speaks. Winfrey has been there. And she tells the story with commendable candor." -Chicago Tribune
