Pepper has been hopelessly in love with her best friend's brother, Hunter, for, like, ever. He's the key to everything she's always craved: security, stability, family. But she needs Hunter to notice her as more than just a friend. Even though she's kissed exactly one guy, she has the perfect plan to go from novice to rock star in the bedroom: take a few pointers from someone who knows what he's doing.

Her college roommates have the perfect teacher in mind. But bartender Reece is nothing like the player Pepper expects. Yes, he's beyond gorgeous, but he's also dangerous and deep—with a troubled past. Soon what started as a lesson in attraction is turning both their worlds upside down, and showing them just what can happen when you go past foreplay and get to what's real. . . .

Sophie Jordan grew up on a pecan farm in the Texas hill country, where she wove fantasies of dragons, warriors, and princesses. A former high school English teacher, she's also theNew York Timesbestselling author of Avon historical romances and the Firelight series. She now lives in Houston with her family. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great NA! I fell in love with the new NA genre but I found after a few dozen books, I realised there was a bit of a pattern but Foreplay stands out from the bunch. It still has the whole tortured hero and heroine NA thing going for it, but instead of having a hero that's rude and completely unconvincing as a love interest, Reece is sweet and the way their love story builds up is completely swoon worthy and worth every second I spent reading. I loved the start of this and I can't wait to see what happens with the series!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sexy, Endearing Read I was pleasantly impressed with Sophie Jordan's NA work, "Foreplay." Pepper is a sweet, inexperienced university student who decides to get some experience under her belt. She finds herself drawn to handsome and direct bartender, Reece, who agrees to help her learn the ropes, so to speak. A few things: I can't understand why the name "Pepper" was chosen. There is no explanation for this unusual name, and quite honestly, I was repeatedly distracted while reading the story. Secondly, I really liked her character though. She's nurturing, warm heart-ed and a very good person. She has a bit of a dark childhood but it doesn't overwhelm the story or her; Pepper is determined to be as successful as possible. The dynamic between Reece and Pepper is great, and Reece is a patient, straight-up kind of guy. A big thumbs up from me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! This is the second time I've read this book and I absolutely loved it the second time round just as much as the first. So much that I read it in less than 12 hours and barely any sleep! Such a great read and I recommend it as a must read. Thank you Sophie Jordan for this amazing, quality read. ☺

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing! Although I have read many New Adult novels over the past few months, I have not found many that I wanted to review on the blog. But when I started reading Foreplay I knew this was one that I needed to share with you. I knew I needed to get this reviewed ASAP because, one, it was written extremely well with characters that were extremely relate-able and a pleasure to read. But also because the story itself, although at times a stretch to my imagination, made sense to me. Foreplay is one of those book that you would read multiple times and never get tired of the story or its characters. There are no annoying best friends and no unimportant secondary characters. They all matter, which made me love this book even more. We follow Pepper, a young girl in college who is hopelessly in love with her best friends brother, Hunter. The only problem is that she is a virgin and has experience in seducing a guy. Enter Reese, a young bartender that enlists himself in teaching Pepper the ways of foreplay. What she doesn't expect were the feeling she soon developed for Reese and what that means for her love for Hunter. This dynamic was something that i loved. It was a different twist on the love triangle, especially since one boy was only a name for most of the book. The relationship between Pepper and Reese was amazing, their chemistry on the page was evident and their banter back and forth was great to read. This is what New Adult should read like. I have read too many in this genre that tend to focus more on the bad memories than the good ones, and that is why I think I loved this book so much. although both characters had shaky pasts with their home lives, it did not deter them from become something better. They were not damaged beyond repair, but they ended helping each other find what they needed most. Love.
