The fabulous New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author returns with a sizzling, funny, and deeply emotional tale of passion and secrets, deception and forgiveness

A matter of secrets . . .

Undercover cop Logan "Kash" Ryan can't afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him.

A matter of lies . . .

Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel's willpower to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.

A matter of love . . .

As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel's heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies . . . or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another great one *a copy was provided by publisher for review* Rachel has always followed her best friend Candace in just about everything she does, one night when she takes her friends advice  she goes through a tragic and traumatizing experience and she decides that she will not trust another guy let alone date one even if he is her gorgeous new neighbor. Kash is an undercover cop on assignment when he meets Rachel, he knows it wouldn't be a good idea for him to get involved with her because of the line of work he does but that doesn't stop him in his quest and break down Rachel and her barriers, now it's only  a matter of whether their relationship can withstand the lies he has to tell her to keep her safe. Molly Mcadams is an amazing writer, I have read both "Taking Chances and loved it ( as well as cried my eyes out ) and "From Ashes and loved it ( Fell in love with the characters ) She just has this quality to her writing that draws you in from day one. The story had me hooked and it was very realistic with all the heartache and terrible things that happen but so balanced with the light and fun. Rachel was a great character and I loved how she dealt with all the horrible things that happened to her, she was very strong. Kash was another  of those swoon worthy characters, he was just so sweet but strong at the same time. I loved the interaction between the characters even the side ones. This book was great and with a cliffhanger ending it makes me want to read the next book yesterday. Overall amazing book if you want to try something in the "New Adult" genre grab a Molly Mcadams book.
