about

Complete your Divergent library with Four!

Fans of the Divergent trilogy by #1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth will be thrilled by Four: A Divergent Collection, a companion volume that includes four pre-Divergent stories plus three additional scenes from Divergent, all told from Tobias's point of view. This collection also makes a great pick for fans of the blockbuster movies who want to delve deeper into the character played by Theo James.

Readers first encountered Tobias as "Four" in Divergent. His voice is an integral part of Allegiant. Readers will find more of this charismatic character's backstory told from his own perspective in Four: A Divergent Collection. When read together, these long narrative pieces illuminate the defining moments in Tobias's life. The first three pieces in this volume—"The Transfer," "The Initiate," and "The Son"—follow Tobias's transfer from Abnegation to Dauntless, his Dauntless initiation, and the first clues that a foul plan is brewing in the leadership of two factions. The fourth story, "The Traitor," runs parallel with the events of Divergent, giving readers a glimpse into the decisions of loyalty—and love—that Tobias makes in the weeks after he meets Tris Prior.

Also includes three additional scenes from Divergent, told from Tobias's point of view!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from kind of boring... i will start off by saying that this book wasn't all that bad. I really enjoyed looking into Four's backstory, and seeing his side of things. his character development was really well laid out. With that being said, i felt like the story was just too slow moving. There were times when I didn't want to continue reading. But I made it to end! just not an exciting read.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting These novella's were very interesting to read, and they give the reader a different look into Four's character. I would definitely read the first book in the series before this one though, so that there is still some surprise revelations into his character and his actions throughout the trilogy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Whole New Perspective Everytime a read a novel or a series. I always wonder how the other characters see, feel or think about the main character. And Veronica Roth provided us a book where it gives us the point of view of one of the important characters. To be able to see in another perspective somewhat gives me a new fresh breath of air from the same atmosphere

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great addition to the series I loved Tobias point of view I wish that it went deeper though.
Date published: 2017-02-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved It! I absolutely loved this book! Everything was from Tobias' point of view! The Transfer was emotional as Tobias has to choose whether to remain in his faction of Abnegation under his father's cruelty or escape it by choosing another faction. In The Initiate we see Tobias adapt to life as a Dauntless in training with the help of Amar. In The Son, Tobias is officially a Dauntless and is suspicious of a conspiracy between Max, Eric and Jeanine Matthews. Also someone from his past resurfaces. The Traitor takes place halfway through Divergent from Tobias' point of view and it was amazing to see all of Tobias' emotions and feelings! They were also 3 additional short scenes at the end of this book making it absolutely amazing and perfect for fans of the Divergent series!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes. Four is my favorite character and I was glad to know that they had made a book just about him. This story was a little repetitive from the first book as Four goes back to his thoughts of when he first met Tris. This book also healed some wounds for me after reading that last book haha. Good read, too small though. The series is done :(
