From Our Editors

Elvis lives . . . Elvis Cole, that is, the hottest, hippest L.A. gumshoe detective from award-winning author Robert Crais. In a roller-coaster of excitement and mystery, a dirty cop's girlfriend hires Cole to get the goods on the cop. However, the cop swears he's clean--merely cheating on the girlfriend. Crais's smart-mouthing detective rivals the best in the genre

Rated 1 out of 5 by from FREE FALL This is/was one of the most disappointing books of Crais's I have ever read, Didn't make sense most of the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dust Collector #5 I am a bit late with my fifth dust collector, given that it is June now, but it was worth the wait. Robert Crais' PI, Elvis Cole, brings a sarcastic remark and a willingness to shoot first to another fast paced thriller. While it did not take long to figure out what was going on, Crais kept the action coming quickly. I even liked how Cole and his cold partner, Joe Pike, were on the run from the police for awhile given the situation they were in. I found it strange thought that the cops couldn't catch up to the two while they drove around in Pike's bright red Jeep. In fact, how does he shadow people so well in such a noticeable vehicle? When all is said and done, Cole and Pike make a formidable tandem and Free Fall is still a very interesting piece.
