This is the first cookbook I have used (and I have used a lot over the years!) where EVERY recipe is right on the money! Sam Turnbull’s recipes for Canadian comfort food are perfect for anyone wanting great tasting food fast! The fact they are vegan is almost a sidebar. We live in a small community where many vegan prepared/processed food is limited. Turnbull has made this a non-issue by giving us recipes for condiments, spreads, etc. I strongly recommend this book to everyone! Even those who go meatless for one day a week. You will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderfully simple, easy to follow recipes I have never jumped right into a cookbook like I have this one but I was very excited to crack this one open and get started. The creme brulee is spectacular. A show stopper and much easier than the non-vegan version to make too. I've already made two batches of the fudge this week and it has received rave reviews. Now the brownies. You really should make two batches. One to eat while they are warm and gooey like a lava cake with coconut vanilla ice cream and then let the second batch set up for the next day. They are just that amazing! I'm looking forward to digging into the rest of the book . Highly recommend this book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FINALLY... A VEGAN COOKBOOK FOR THE REST OF US!! Every vegan should have this cookbook... IT’S THE BEST!! Delicious, easy-to-follow recipes that use ingredients found in your local grocery store and make ‘real food’. No green smoothies or hummus recipes here... thank you Sam Turnbull! The ‘cheese’ recipes are phenomenal and every recipe I have tried so far has worked out exactly as described in the book and tastes delicious.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to follow vegan recipes You would think that you would need a bunch of obscure ingredients to make good vegan food, but most if not all of the ingredients in this book are available at your standard grocery store. The food is simple, but delicious, and easy to follow. I have made a great number of recipes from the blog, that have always been amazing, so I was super excited to get the cook book as well.
