Rated 3 out of 5 by from Drawing to a close, perhaps? The breakneck pace of the 'Weather Warden' series has been non-stop for so long that the start of this book was a welcome relief - Joanne is on vacation, finally. Of course, it doesn't last long, and once again the world itself will hang in the balance. I enjoy the 'Weather Warden' series very much. Joanne is a phenomenal character, the secondary characters are just as well written, and there's a really strong world that Caine has made, one of magic, djinn, and a Mother Nature that isn't so pleased to have us around. But this book frustrated me in the end. I feel like the series needs to wrap up soon, and some of the character choices, and the fallout of some of the character decisions were a bit depressing. I really recommend the series, but I'm really hoping that Caine revitalizes it a little in the next book. It's not that I didn't like this book - Joanne and David always make the book worthwhile - I'm just wondering if they'll ever manage to catch a moment's peace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Urban Fantasy Rachel Caine was kind enough to send me an ARC of this book, the 7th in the Weather Warden series. I’ll admit that I haven’t read the first six books in the series, but after having read this one, it’s definitely a priority! I have three of them, but have been waiting to acquire all six before reading them. Gale Force was an awesome read! Joanna and David are really deep characters and I was totally caught up in the happenings of this amazing world Ms. Caine has created. It’s non-stop action, mystery, danger, and romance all rolled into a paranormal world of characters that I can’t wait to read more about! Weather Wardens and Djinn’s are a wicked mix and what can I say about Joanna except that she really takes a lickin and keeps on ticking, for lack of a better term! She’s a kick-ass heroine and David is powerful and sexy as hell. I want a djinn too!
