Now the monumental saga gets the royal treatment it deserves, with each book wrapped in bound leather-cloth covers and packaged together in an elegant display case. This one-of-a-kind boxed set includes:

“One of the best series in the history of fantasy.”—Los Angeles Times

Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King’s Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert’s name. There his family dwells in peace and comfort: his proud wife, Catelyn; his sons Robb, Brandon, and Rickon; his daughters Sansa and Arya; and his bastard son, Jon Snow. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse—unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season.

Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances. Now Robert is riding north to Winterfell, bringing his queen, the lovely but cold Cersei, his son, the cruel, vainglorious Prince Joffrey, and the queen’s brothers Jaime and Tyrion of the powerful and wealthy House Lannister—the first a swordsman without equal, the second a dwarf whose stunted stature belies a brilliant mind. All are heading for Winterfell and a fateful encounter that will change the course of kingdoms.

Meanwhile, across the Narrow Sea, Prince Viserys, heir of the fallen House Targaryen, which once ruled all of Westeros, schemes to reclaim the throne with an army of barbarian Dothraki—whose loyalty he will purchase in the only coin left to him: his beautiful yet innocent sister, Daenerys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic addition to the bookshelf! One of my favorite series, and all the better in leather. The only downside is having to repurchase the set once the next two books come out...if they ever do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great series Love these books. And the leather bound makes for a great collection
Date published: 2017-10-27
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Leather Books The leather books are a bit small but the look and feel of them more than make up for it. Definitely a must have collector's item

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful books! Such a beautiful set. They are a lot smaller than I had anticipated but great to pack around. If you like the TV series you will definitely love the books.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this series! This is the best fantasy series. Do you like the tv series? You must check out the books. So much better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful boxed set! With all the Game of Thrones hype going around I decided it was time to buy the books. I am always the sort of person who would prefer to read the books before watching a movie or show adaption. The material it was made out of has an excellent texture, with bright/dark beautiful colors for each book. The books along with the font are relatively small, almost remindsing me of a bible. I have yet to start the actual books, but if you are a GoT fan, this set might be for you! I am overall very happy with this set and can't wait to start reading these books.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Collector Set for any GoT Fan A huge fan of the books and the HBO series - this is the only series (aside from HP) that I keep coming back to read. The Good: If you're a fan of the book and series, worthwhile to get your hand on this leather bound "collector" edition. Fantastic for setting on display on the coffee table and a great conversation starter. The leather is soft and I had no issue with the spine being damaged after reading the book. Love that the case it comes with is also designed for display purposes. The Bad: Do note that the book is smaller than even the paper back version, so print is also smaller than what you would expect. Physically, the book and paper feel thinner and more "fragile" (i.e. keep it away from water or anything that may damage the book in any way) - something to keep in mind if you are someone who likes their books in pristine condition. The paper does feel like it could tear quite easily so definitely need to be a bit more gentle with the books. I didn't have too much issues reading the series as some reviewers have indicated so I'm quite happy with the overall purchase! I got it for Christmas (a treat to myself) for $50 including taxes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ice and Fire Phenomenal copies of the books
Date published: 2017-06-07
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good series, tiny books Great series these books are a little small though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Series This is a great series, if you like the HBO series you will love this. These books go into more detail than the series on HBO. I got this on sale as a gift for my girlfriend who was just getting into the series on HBO and she loves the books a lot more, she can't put them down. She loves the leather back, great special edition, but considerably smaller in size than the regular paperbacks, so don't expect books the size of paperbacks, or hard covers, they are considerably smaller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Story, Great Price Probably one of the best fantasy series I've ever read. Despite the numerous characters and side journeys, it is still really easy to follow and very hard to put the books down. Plus, the price on this isn't bad either, especially for 5 hardcover novels that look great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing series amazing series, very different from other fantasies

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Disagree with other reviewers I don't find the font to be too small. The books are beautiful. The story is captivating. My only caveat is that when the final instalments come out they will not match the set, but I got this at an amazing bargain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Legendary Series! I bought this box set about a year ago and have loved it since. The Game of Thrones series is an amazing fantastical group of books that drags you in right away. The plots and characters are extremely intriguing and it makes you want to continue all the time. Reading through all five books gives you the plot and character development that is needed in any series, especially in fantasy. Overall I would give this a perfect rating, not to mention the leather bound copies of Game of Thrones makes it look even better!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wish Wish I got this set instead of the ones I have
Date published: 2016-12-23
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice to look at but.... Nice to look at in terms of a collection, but the books are small and not really meant for reading, and, if the point of the matching set was to match, what happens when the rest of the series is released? Great idea, not the best execution. Note, my review is for the set, not the books themselves as GOT is amazing!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good For Display Incredible series, and this edition is really beautiful but they are a lot smaller than I pictured and very hard to read. These books are better for display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing The series is fantastic and while this edition is pretty, it is very small and certainly not made for reading.
Date published: 2016-11-30
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mostly for Aesthetic Fantastic series but this edition while beautiful is made mainly for show and not practical for reading.
Date published: 2016-11-25
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great read! I loved the cover design, but hoped it was hardcover. The print was tiny. Nonetheless, still a great series!
Date published: 2016-11-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Series, Bad Edition Beautiful writing and a brilliant series, but this edition while pretty is made for display not reading.
Date published: 2016-11-09
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great read Small print, but still gorgeous.
Date published: 2016-11-07
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Alright I assume most people purchasing these have already read the books so I won't say much about the story itself though it is brilliant (not for everyone however) The covers are beautiful, they look and feel great. However, they are very small and the printing is rather hard to read because of the size. I'd recommend buying the standard paperback as it is much cheaper and larger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty darn sexy The book looks and feels great. I personally don't find the font to be small at all and the compact size makes it very easy to carry around. I just finished A GAME OF THRONES and the book still looks brand new and shows no sign of any use. BUY IT... Do it now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous I am an avid reader and book collector and I love this box set. The leather binding is gorgeous and I prefer the compact size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantasy Made Fantastic! I am a literature fan who grew up on Tolkien. I read my way through my childhood, and well into my young adult years. I say this to demonstrate my appreciation of the written word, and to show how I have developed a sincere love for physical books. Pros: This is a beautiful leather-wrapped version of GRRM's Game of Thrones, which includes 5 books: A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows, and A Dance with Dragons. The books are approximately the size of a small pocket bible, with paper quality and font size of similar measure. They are blessedly unadorned with any mention of having been transformed into a major franchise on HBO, and contain every snippit of story captured in the original editions. For me, this was the edition I always wanted. The only thing better would be a hardcover edition that might stand sturdier against the test of time. I happen to fly a lot for work and have discovered that these books are the perfect size for tucking into one's carry-on bag. Cons: The size. If you happen to have vision issues, or prefer reading a full-size tome. This is easy to see if you happen upon this collection on a shelf, less so if you are buying online. For me it was a non-issue, but I can see many people struggling with it. I would strongly encourage anyone who is looking for a compact reading version to leap on this while it lasts. Others may wish to hold-off and hope to receive as pretty an edition in hardcover, should we ever be so fortunate as to get one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Books are for reading, these are not. I'm a huge GOT fan and own most of the song of ice and fire merchandise and books so I can speak with some authority on the quality and readability of these books. To say the "monumental saga gets the royal treatment it deserves" is entirely laughable. The good: This is a nice set to look at. The display case, front and rear covers and bindings of the books are all leather, which looks quite nice as a collection. The Bad: You never truly appreciate how small these books are until you open the package and remove them from the case. THEY ARE TINY! I have a medium sized adult male hand and the books footprint is smaller than that. I own the trade paperback version of the books (the previous smallest sized books) and these new ones are significantly smaller. The type is so small and crammed into the pages that I significantly doubt I would enjoy re reading this series using these books (and I have perfect vision) which is unfortunately what I had planned to do. If you wear glasses or have vision problems I strongly urge you to avoid purchasing these unless you plan on simply displaying them. The pages themselves are also of cheap quality paper, the exact same paper found in the cheapest version of the books, hardly the "royal treatment" In closing, to try to read 6000 pages of some of the best literary work ever made crammed into these tiny little things is almost criminal to me. it seems they made them as small as possible and with the lowest quality paper in order to cut down on costs. I would have gladly paid double the price of this set for larger books printed on better paper. This may not be an issue at all for some, but a set of books at this price should come with at least some small semblance of readability in mind. Hugely disappointed.
